I liked yellow version best, just cause pikachu followed you around, and you could use wierd cheats that would make him run around the city and if you found him he would shock and kill all your pokemon making you start back at the pokemon center. There was another cheat I dont remember what it was, it was in the viridian pokemon center, if you left pikachu in the pokemon center( dont remember how ) and you went back in he would be really mad at you.

Emerald is supposed to be the third version of Ruby/Sapphire, just like Yellow was to Red/Blue and Crystal to Gold/Silver.

Diamond and Pearl are confirmed for the DS, too.

You can choose Groudon or Kyogre and then will be at lvl 70. Rayquaza is stronger, more cities and a new green outfit. Plus you can make more secret bases and the Safari Zone is difrent and you meet difrent Pokémon there like AIPOM (wich is my favorite :huh: ) and other Jotho Pokémon inc. the 3 starters from Jotho if you complete the Hoenn Pokédex.

I've only been able to stick with a game to get pokemon to 100 once. My Blue version. Man I miss my Mew.

One technique I've been trying to work with is giving my Pokemon "Counter" Element moves. Basicly I try to find moves that can do super effective damage on elemental pokemon that are strong against them. For example, My Blastoise I was able to teach Earthquake to, so I can be able to beat Eletric Pokemon. My Mewtwo I taught it Shadow Ball, but I also taught it Brick Break, to fight off the Dark type.

GameShark. Thats how I got him, first pokemon I caught. Freakin thing was tough though, I could still do decent damage with a pound attack against Brocks rock pokemon.

You can get Mew at special Nintendo events where they will put Mew into your Game Pak. That's all I know about it.

Right now, the gameplay is just too tired out for me. If the 3D elements make Pokemon any better then I'll get the DS versions, but if not...

Heh, I had some trading cards way back. When I got sick of them, I traded basically my entire collection for two cards, a Charizard and a Blaine's Arcanine. I still have them, somewhere. Only reason being, I thought they'd be worth lots of money later on in life. *shrug*

As for the GB games, I had gold and my sis had silver. I played it through a few times, keeping an Arcanine every time (transfer to silver, transfer back to gold in a new file). I had 3 (or 4 - can't remember) lvl 100 Arcanines, all with different trainer names, and all with different skill sets.

I've got gold, crystal, ruby, and emerald. Though I'm not that into them. The PTC game was pretty hot when I was in first grade. But no one higher than third grade got interested. I used to have a REALLY rare card that would've been worth alot of dough, but I lost it. I'm pretty sure it was rare because in first grade, a friend of mine who was into the stuff told me it was pretty darn rare. Man I wish I knew where that card went.

<_< With an emulator, leveling legitly is easy, as you have the space bar that speeds things up. You train on things you 1HKO, And you hold down the space bar. Truly great leveling.

And also some new Pokes: Sneasking(Sneasel and King), Munchlax(Munch and Relax)...

Shiny Pokemon can be found in every game from Gold & Silver onwards. They only appear very rarely (you'd be lucky to see one in your life) and they stand out from other Pokemon because they are a different colour. All Pokemon have shiny forms, including one-time only Pokemon such as Rayquaza. The Red Gyarados is an exception, as it always appears in the Lake of Rage no matter what.

Aside from the red Gyrados, I found a shiny silver Slugma in my Sapphire game. The percentage of finding one of these Pokemon is supposed to be 1%, maybe less.

The Secret Bases were very cool, I definitely put them as one of my favorite additions to the series, but I wish you could make them without the move being taught to your Pokemon.

Ghost pokemon are awsome and there are only like 7 of them Gengar is one of my favorites. Also Tyranitar and Houndoom are cool, there aren't many darks either.

When you get in a fight with them, you can't escape until you defeat or capture it. And when you send them out, they sparkle for a second before you hear their cry. That's it.

That's one of the best reasons why Fire Red/ Leaf Green are so good. When fighting the Elite Four the second time, they grow ten levels, each pokemon.

I'm playing through Fire Red a fourth time now. I'm bored, I guess. Finding a level 5 Pikachu in the Viridian Forest is a pain, now. It never took me so long to find one.

I took on the stronger elite four with a level 60-62 party. I thought the only difference would've been the jacked up levels, and boy did that ever catch me off guard.

With the superpowed E4...
-All pokemon are 10(?) levels higher, some are evolved
-Different moves to counteract weaknesses (For example, a dragon/flying type might have a fire type move to conteract its double-weakness to ice)
-Slightly smarter AI

Also, the stronger party has Silver/Gold pokemon. I had a well-rounded party going in but with the legendary birds, you naturally have a weakness to ice and electric.

Electric types would absolutely fry me, seeing how three of my six were vulnerable, not to mention Ice. (However, the electric situation is easily curbed by Dugtrio, who resists Electric and, with Earthquake, can avoid being paralyzed via Static.)

I can't remember the team I had when I completed it before but it was better than that.
I also remembered how much I hate the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. If there is anything worse than the Zubat infested caves than it's the Gastly infested tower!

You would have noticed my party has a majority of dragons. The only weakness to dragon is dragon itelf, so theya re playing the suicide card because my dragons have extremely pwoerful dragon moves. Dragon Claw and Outrage being the anchor moves.

Dragons are also allergic to ice, which is just as well since you can get yourself a Jynx just before you fight Claire.

I tend to lean towards fire Pokemon when choosing my starter for their sheer attack strength. It's funny how the water-type Pokemon is always the middle option, in terms of difficulty.

I ALWAYS choose the Fire starters. Fire is the best element of the three. Water is quite good, but there are so many Water Pokes that you'll always have one in your team in the end and Grass isn't too good if you ask me...
My fave element of all is Steel. It rocks!

Well, In my ruby game I have an Aggron. I usually like to have a variety in my party. I also choose a fire starter 'cause you see more grass & water in the wild than fire. Now all I do is level them up so I can use them in Pokemon colloseum. Which I haven't played in ages.

These might just be the early sketches. I remember seeing the original Celebii in a Pokemon magazine giving a preview of Gold & Silver and it looked absoloutely horrid. Of course, the final version looks much sexier. :P
