One technique I've been trying to work with is giving my Pokemon "Counter" Element moves. Basicly I try to find moves that can do super effective damage on elemental pokemon that are strong against them. For example, My Blastoise I was able to teach Earthquake to, so I can be able to beat Eletric Pokemon. My Mewtwo I taught it Shadow Ball, but I also taught it Brick Break, to fight off the Dark type.

Right now, the gameplay is just too tired out for me. If the 3D elements make Pokemon any better then I'll get the DS versions, but if not...

I think it's alright. I'd prefer a remake of the Gold Silver and Crystal. Those were my favourite by far. Preferable adding Battle frontier and Hoenn from Ruby. That'd make one sweet game.

As for the GB games, I had gold and my sis had silver. I played it through a few times, keeping an Arcanine every time (transfer to silver, transfer back to gold in a new file). I had 3 (or 4 - can't remember) lvl 100 Arcanines, all with different trainer names, and all with different skill sets.
Man what a waste of time, now it collects dust somewhere in my cupboard.

Magic the gathering is heaps better, I still have have 500+ cards. Most of which are totally useless to me, however.
And most of all, it isn't Japanese. (I think)
Pokemon sucks compared to MtG, as does everyother trading card game. In my opinoin anyway.

Fire Red
Leaf Green
Just need Yellow, Crystal and Emerald though I never get the speacial version only the two that come out together. And wow these game are addicting but after your pokemon are high up in levels its not much of a challenge against cpu's but thats what you have friends for <_< .

Blue x2
Yellow
Red
Gold
Sliver
Cyrstral
Ruby
Collosuem 1+2
The reason for the Blue x2, red and gold and sliver was that I got a like 124 in 1 and it had Blue, Red, Gold and Sliver on it.
Blue was always my fav, Only one I ever got all the pokemon, yay 151 including Mew <_<

With the superpowed E4...
-All pokemon are 10(?) levels higher, some are evolved
-Different moves to counteract weaknesses (For example, a dragon/flying type might have a fire type move to conteract its double-weakness to ice)
-Slightly smarter AI
I got a bit lucky, but I still won.

Charizard (Fire/Flying)
Raichu (Electric)
Dugtrio (Ground)
Poliwrath (Water/Fighting)
Mewtwo (Psychic)
Pidgeot (Flying)
Electric types would absolutely fry me, seeing how three of my six were vulnerable, not to mention Ice. (However, the electric situation is easily curbed by Dugtrio, who resists Electric and, with Earthquake, can avoid being paralyzed via Static.)

That's a fairly similar team to the one I've been building up at the moment. It's still not quite right, and isn't final:
Charizard
Raichu
Fearow
Venonat
Haunter
Primeape
I can't remember the team I had when I completed it before but it was better than that.
I also remembered how much I hate the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. If there is anything worse than the Zubat infested caves than it's the Gastly infested tower!

Mewtwo

Charizard
Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres
Pidgeot
Dragonite
Second time was:
Charizard
Mewtwo
Articuno
Zapdos
Moltres
Dragonite
Because Mewtwo and Dragonite could have such a wide array of moves, those two together could easily beat any type.

Blaziken
Rayquaza
Salamence
Wailord/Groudon (Borrowed from a friend because I killed him by mistake)
Raichu
Aggron
My "journeying party" I use for non-battle errands is..
Blaziken
Rayquaza [Fly]
Swellow [Fly, Secret Power]
Wailord [Surf, Dive, Waterfall, Strength]
Raichu [Flash]
The last slot I use for a pokemon I'm training.

My Silver team:
Typhlosion
Crobat
Lanturn
Umbreon
Forretress
Girafarig
My Ruby team:
Blaziken
Tropius
Sharpedo
Manectric
Aggron
