I completely agree. I've been saying that for months now, they made remakes of Red and Blue, why not Silver and Gold?

The thing about Pokemon is that I don't consider it a "fad" type of thing, but rather a multi-billion dollar series that is part of Nintendo that made it a success.

It's definitely part of what has made Nintendo successful. Nintendo's made a lot of success off Pokemon ever since Red and Blue came out in 1995, and it looks like Diamond and Pearl may be Pokemon's biggest hit.

This was stated previously, but people just don't consider Pokemon to be 'cool' any more. Even though the fun factor is still there, they would much rather go throw a Halo 3 LAN party with 40+ people.

Yeah Pokémon isn't considered cool anymore by people. When I was really into the games when I was around 13, my parents even called me childish. I will still buy Diamond however, because I always had good times playing Pokémon with a friend of mines.

Battle Revolution looks promising to with the customisable character feature. The models are STILL the same though. Very disapointing, since they've been using them since the N64 Stadium games. What I DO like however, is that the Pokémon finally physical hit each other, and leave trances of their attacks in the area your fighting in.

The only thing I like about Pokemon is the games. When I was younger, though, I loved the show and the trading card game. Pokemon games are still appealing to me because they just simply kick ass. =P

I always have a hard time finding a grass pokemon that I like and has powerful attacks. So I normally choose the grass pokemon. And of the three grass pokemon I like... bulbasaur the most.

But Squirtle is the most cool of all starter pokemon, not the most useful.

The Grass/Flying Pokemon you're talking about is Tropius, right? Tropius was awesome. =D Another really odd combination was the Ground/Flying type Gligar from Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

Castform. I never actually used him as a fighting member, but he certainly was cool. =D Luckily, it was quite easy getting Castform. Then again, Pokemon games aren't hard unless your party is underleveled. The one real challenge I've had in the Pokemon games was Red in Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

Atm my favorite newcomer is the Fire monkey starter Goukazaru. It is just as Blaziken, a Fire and Fighting type giving him alot of options to do. He even manages to do Blaziken's job better because of it's unpredictability and high speed. Also the option to either Sheme or Swords Dance is hot.

And yeah, Tropius was awesome! I wish it got an evolution in D/P though, or atleast an upgrade. =/

No I don't... But I visit the Smogon.com forums alot, since they have their own and largest Netbattle system they sure know what they talk about. Lots of them do have a Japanese emulator version of D/P so their information about the Pokémon is rather reliable.

Goukazaru is the final evolution. It goes from Hikozaru -> Moukazaru -> Goukazaru

Hikozaru (ヒコザル)
hi (kanji: 火) means fire; kozaru (kanji: 子猿) young monkey.

Moukazaru (モウカザル)
mouka (kanji: 猛火) means roaring flames; saru (kanji: 猿) means monkey.

Goukazaru (ゴウカザル)
Gouka (kanji: 業火) meaning hell-fire; saru (kanji: 猿) means monkey.

Notice how "火" can be said as ""hi" and "ka" depending on the context. That's my Japanese lesson for toay. Hai.

Castform was very weak, but it was a very original idea. I liked having one, just for the novelty.

I say now it's quite even, if the Mewtwo doesn't have Ice Beam. :blink: Which he most likely WILL have, since it's also effective against Lugia and Groudon. Mewtwo is also still a terrible beast that'll still tear appart almost any team. He's got a Special Fighting attack, which will now completly make Tyranitar and other Dark types cry.

Well, you usually stick with the Pokemon you catch at the start and then slowly fill your party with legendaries. I always have one Pokemon in my party who acts as my HM slave. In Gold I used Lanturn, for Ruby I used Wailord, and in LeafGreen I used Poliwrath.

I had some sort of device for cheats long ago. It was only designed for the RBY games, so I couldn't cheat in Gold. It was called something like Brainboy, and it was pretty simple. You could change any Pokémon you had into whatever you liked with whatever moves you liked. Heheh I loved my lv 999 Magikarp with Fly, Hyper Beam, Hydro Pump and Explosion. ^^

I don't see what's wrong with Pokemon cards, except the fact that they stopped using Ken Sugimori's drawings and started replacing them with photographs of plastic dolls.

In case you didn't know, Ken Sugimori is Game Freak's official Pokemon artist. He drew the original pictures of each Pokemon from 001-4??. He draws way better than any of those other clowns they're hiring.

I just looked up on some more info on Diamond and Pearl. Apparently, the two versions are going to have the most legendary Pokemon out of any other game before it. Thing is, out of about seven legendary Pokemon, four are going to be event-only. >.<

What I found was that if you catch any pokemon and then put it into your PC (it must have pokerus), all your pokemon in there will have super stats...but will have a status condition in battle!

I think the trick is to battle wild pokemon non stop (no healing), and you might catch it. Once you have it, you can heal your pokemon at a pokemon center, but it'll go away after a number of repeated healings.

I used a cheat code once that gave me a bad egg, and my party caught the Virus. Getting a bad egg is another way to catch it, but it's entirely random, and only happens ata a day care.....I think.....I can't remember if bad eggs are cheat exclusive.

Anyway, if you don't know, the poke'virus will greatly increase all the stats of your pokemon when leveling. It's like a macho brace for all of the stats, but multiplied 2 fold or something.

BTW, I've got a team of lv100's in Ruby. *coughcheatscough* v.v;

Yep. That's only through an event, which can be replicated with a cheat. It allows you to get either latios or latias, whichever one isn't flying around the continent after you beat the elite 4. You have to get a special ticket (provided by the cheat) and the captain of the ship (I think it was the S.S Anne) has to recognize it (yep, a second cheat to replicate the event). Once that is done, he says something about wondering why you would want to go there since nobody ever wants to go there anymore, and takes you there.

I think the reason behind Mirage Island is the fact that it is an "illusion", only made visible and tangible when an "illusion Pokemon" (sort of a real but not real Pokemon) is in your party.

GVs (Gender Values) are random numbers from 0 - 255, and when paired up next to another random number, calculate whether the Pokemon is male or female.

Now, here's the deal. The GV can land on the gender breakpoint - the value that is the transition between Male and Female. If the Pokemon has the breakpoint value as his GV, then it is a Mirage Pokemon.

You need to speak with the old man who lives with the Pokemon Fan Club president's brother in Pacifidlog Town. You need to speak with him with the appropriate Pokemon as the first Pokemon on the roster. If that requirement is fulfilled, then the old man will say that he sees the island. Surf right from Pacifidlog Town and you'll spot it somewhere at the southern part of the route. As MD said, there are Leichi Berries and many, many Wynauts. n.n

After being subscribed to Nintendo Power for a year and reading the monthly Pokemon sections, you really see that pretty much every great player in the country has a lineup consisting of non-legendary Pokemon. They're overrated if you're looking to take the jump to beating other players on multiplayer.

Just because a Pokemon is legendary doesn't mean it's invincible. I just love Mewtwo, though. He's in all of my line-ups because of his innately high Special Attack score and a big range of moves to learn.

One of my best line-ups goes like this (in order):

1. Dragonite
2. Charizard
3. Kyogre
4. Metagross
5. Sceptile
6. Mewtwo

I've raped so many opponents with this team. I one-hit KO'd a Rayquaza my friend had because my Charizard landed a Critical Hit with Dragon Claw. =D

Emerald or not, simply having caught the legendaries isn't all that impressive. Everybody has them, although they do take a few tries. I myself managed to catch my first Moltres with a single Ultra Ball.

It's just that ledgendaries are one-of-a-kind, and you have to work for them. Sometimes a lot. They usually have something special about them too, like certain stats may increase more, or they ight have an exclusive move. I usually have at least one or two ledgendaries in my party (none of which were gotten through cheats), usually to fill weaknesses in my line-up.

I've gotten all the legendary Pokemon so far except for Jirachi. I even got Deoxys, but only because I was extremely lucky to find a friend that actually had one to trade. =D My favorite legendary Pokemon has been, is, and maybe always will be Mewtwo. He's just so darn strong and diverse. He just radiates awesomeness, too.

A feature I'm really looking forward to in Diamond and Pearl is customizing Pokeballs.

Well, really, you can add stickers to the Pokeballs to alter the effect that the ball makes when sending out a Pokemon into battle. For example, when I add a fire-themed sticker to my Pokeball, when I send it out in battle, it will emerge with a ring of fire.

It just keeps on getting better and better, doesn't it? Seems like there's a lot of stuff in this new game, which makes it all the more worthwhile to get. If we're lucky, it'll be different enough from the previous versions to actually make pokemon interesting a bit. At least for a little while.

Anyway, I'm hopeing for even more hidden easter eggs in this game then the previous. You know, they have all of these things hidden in the game that you have to find. Kinda like sidequests. I just hope that most of them aren't event-only. That'd suck.

I read up on a really awesome Pokemon a while ago. It's Diamond-only, and it has the highest natural Attack power of any Pokemon in any Pokemon game. As a matter of fact, the only Pokemon stronger than this one is Deoxys, in its Attack Form.

I know that the Pokemon with the high Attack is a pure Rock type. I think its name was Rampard, the evolved form of a fossilized Pokemon named Zugaidos.

No.... you down;oad a rom for emerald/ruby/sapphire/whatever, download a rom for the bonus disk, and play the game over from the beginning on your PC. But if you have an action replay, you can save your game to the computer, and upload it to the GBA game. I've done that before, but I'm not sure how you'd do that on an emulator.

No, an Action Replay. They're two different brands. I know that my action replay for the GBA allowed me to store my game data on the PC, and then upload it back into the game (though it would always display an error message when starting up the game, it didn't ruin it). I assume you'd be able to save your data from the ROM version into that special folder, and then upload it to your GBA version that way. But that's kinda complicated.

No. Well, sorta. It's larger than a GBC cartridge (only because the half that sticks out of the GBA is thicker), and it has a USB port on it. It also comes with software for uploading new cheats onto it so you don't have to do it by hand, and alows you to save ALL of the save info on the game cartridge you select, and allowing you to later replace any new data with the data saved on the PC, and then replay the game from there (hence it's name "Action - Replay"). Don't worry, it comes with instructions.

This is what it comes with. If you want to get one, don't let anyone try to sell it to you for more than $40. That's what I payed for it at Wal-Mart, that's what it's worth. Nothing more. The MAX version is probably worth $50 - $60. It's been a while since I've even used cheats, so I don't remember what the MAX costs.

The CD for the PC is the same size as a gamecube disk. I have this version, it's got the USB port on the side just like the MAX version does, and both have a button and a switch on top.

The thing about the action replay that's so much better than the Gameshark, is the fact that you can use it to replay any of your games from any save spot as long as you have it saved on your PC. It helped me get a good 2000+ rare candies, about 1500 Master Balls, and the Aurora Ticket needed to get to the island where Latios/Latias is hiding (one of them will be flying around Hoenn, the other will be on this island. It depends on what version of the game you have). Don't use the walk through walls cheat. It may be fun, but you'll just end up screwing yourself and having to start the whole game over. Unless you have you're save file on your PC. ;)

As you can see, you insert a GBA game into the AR like so. The cartridge in this one is not a GBC game, and no it does not work with GBC games.

Yes, it is. You will of course get an error message after you upload your save file back onto the game, but everything will work like it should regardless. I tried out the demo for D/P the other day at a Gamestop in Portland Oregon. To tell you the truth, I was dissapointed. The new character looks like some *** french gguy wannabe with his ghetto hat on, the overworld map looks unatural, and a lot of other stuff. But then again it's a demo, so what can you expect?

The good thing about it though, was the graphics for the attacks. They're improved from the advanced series.

Good, because I thought the Advance battles were crap. The technique animations were better in terms of graphics, but I personally thought the previous instalments were a lot more imaginative.

In R/S/E/FR/LG, my Rayquaza uses Hyper Beam and shoots a stream of orange balls at the enemy. In G/S/C, the screen strobes and there's this massive sound effect of pure energy. Awesome.

I never got Pokemon Crystal, but it was pretty cool, I guess. After all, Pokemon moved when they made appearances and it was the first version to feature both a male and female main character. I didn't buy it simply because I was perfectly happy with my Gold version. =D

The reasons I'm getting Diamond are as follows:

1. I like the main legendary Pokemon in Diamond more than Pearl. Plus, it's a Dragon/Steel type, which is pretty cool.
2. The Diamond-exclusive Pokemon seem better than the Pearl-exclusive Pokemon. Diamond has Rampard, who, as I said earlier, has the second highest Attack stat out of any Pokemon in existence.
3. I just like Diamonds more than Pearls. =P

Here are two more additions that make Diamond and Pearl even better. While Gold/Silver/Crystal had Morning, Day, and Night, Diamond/Pearl have Morning, Day, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. The other cool thing is that Scizor is in the game. I LOVE Scizor. =D
