I think people have also forgotten that the Wii was intended to be a secondary console, as in people buy a Ps3 or a 360 (Ie, Skidzorz, WD, Nos), and then get a Wii because of the fun titles and low cost.

That is exaclty what I did. I got a Wii and a PS3. I am in NO WAY saying the Wii is a bad console, I play it every other day, but it needs more really good exclusives.

And I didn't buy TP for Wii, becasue the controles would be just, ugh.

I think the biggest drawback from the Wii is lack of online play. Who wants to have a different friend code for each game, when you could so easily just have a gamertag that's the same for every game. And the lack of online games is embarassing for the Wii. Eh, online play is overrated in my opinion. Why would I want to take the time and effort to be good enough at an online FPS to have fun owning 12 year-old kids or put in the hours to level up and get to the "fun" part of an MMORPG when I can play some good singleplayer games with lots of replay value?

Well a lot of people play too much, but when you've got mates playing as well, it's awesome when you and your mates go on an assault in Halo, or do a tag battle online in Dead or Alive.

The logic behind that is that everyone's rich and there are no hard-core nintendo fanboys.
Makeing a 'secondary' console (which was not Ninty's intentions) is stupid.

There's only two games that I KNOW I really like that are out for the Wii, four which I'm interested in, but don't know if I'll like them, and one game that I KNOW I'll like that isn't out yet. That's three in the worst case scenario, 7 in the best. That averages out to 5 titles that I would like. That's not really a whole lot. I'm just saying that I hope Nintendo releases some good titles this year (besides Brawl), because they don't have many.

@WD: Even though I get killed constantly when I play Halo, I still find it fun. You get better the more you play it anyway.

I myself find MMORPGs very fun. I play Ragnarok online on a free server, and there are always people online, to converse with, and play with, and I also play FF11, which I find very fun, and even more fun when me and my frien play together.

This is only a partial list of announced titles - more are always revealed as the year progresses, including at events like E3 and the upcoming Game Developer's Conference in February. That said, there are either interesting titles - Disaster: Day of Crisis is from the creators of Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos and looks to be a great action/adventure game. Then there's Okami which, when it was released on PS2, won game of the year awards and rivaled Twilight Princess for best adventure game of 2006.

Dragon Quest is an insanely popular RPG in Japan, so it's great that Wii is getting an exclusive entry. There's Endless Ocean, a diving simulation that's gotten solid reviews across the board. And that isn't even mentioning games like Tales of Symphonia 2, Red Steel 2 (which will have considerably improved graphics and controls now that Ubisoft has a few years experience with the Wii hardware). And of course, besides Brawl and Mario Kart, there are all the already released games on Wii, including Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Zack and Wiki, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Scarface: The World is Yours, SSX Blur, WarioWare, Excite Truck, Super Paper Mario, Guitar Hero III, Super Mario Strikers, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, etc.

I don't see the reason for complaints. If this year's release isn't "exciting enough", then make sure that you've played the already released hit games before you complain.

It's not just the online game. Even on the moh main menu i get bad connection with my wii remote. Constantly at random times t menu, single player, or online my remote goes berserk and cant focus and goes all over the screen. Only in mohh2 do i get bad lag problems. Surfing the net doesn't give me any. But it's worth it.

Ooh, No More Heroes got a 9/10 from GameSpot. That's impressive considering GS hates the Wii.

BUT, it got a 7.8/10 from IGN.

Why would you waste money on overnight shipping? I always just choose ground. I don't mind waiting a few days, or even a week for something I bought off the net.

But I checked Wal Mart and Gamestop today, and they didn't have it. They had a few copies at the GS in Bend Oregon though, and at the GS in Portland Oregon two or so weeks before Christmas.

MoH: Heroes 2 (I think that's the name at least) is supposed to have fantastic FPS control, better than Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and easily the best controls on any console. Very responsive and it's easy to edit to suit your liking. Plus, it supports 32 online multiplayer, though I'm not sure how that plays out.

Here's an informative review of the game. The game's definitely worth checking out.

That sounds similar to Halo. Two body shots or one head shot with the sniper. The rocket launcher is nearly impossible to hit with unless you aim at the ground.

But it's not like EVERYONE is going to glitch it so that they're invincible. Besides, you can't play against anyone online on a Wii unless you have their Wii code. The only exception that I know of is SSBB, which has a random match feature. But I prefer to fight people I know, so I doubt I'll have problems with people glitching.

Don't not get Mohh2. It's fun and is a good online game. But like many other games, it has its downfalls, that which are a little more significant than others.

That's why we have the internets and forums. To gather people's Wii codes so you can actually do something online with your Wii.

Basically, these guys used their ub3r h4x0r ski11z to gain access to ALL of the Wii's stored memory. Normally, you're only allowed to view 1/8th of it, which is used for storing gamesaves etc., but the rest of it is used for storing the decoding/encoding software that makes everything run, among other things.

What this means, is that we'll start seeing homebrew Wii games with full motion sensing, and possibly a Linux based Wii OS, just like the GC had a homebrew Linux based OS.

I'm definately going to be keeping tabs on this. :D

Yeah, but the Wii Updates cancel this out and mess up your console if you brewed it.

If you want a completely safe hack...use the Twilight Hack that Team Twilizers did.

The new Wii update format does nothing to screw your console, so far the only negative about using 'Hacks' have been the duplicate channels, but there's a duplicate channel remover now, and theres now also a patch that allows Trucha Signed discs to run with the new ISO037 whatever software.

Mine makes clicking noises whenever it's loading something, like a stage in Brawl or a cutscene in Bully, etc. Really annoying, but it's running fine at the moment. I just hope it doesn't mean it'll have problems later.

You probably will. My Wii makes those noises often, and I have problems with my console. Sometimes it won't read a disc properly. It does when I eject it and put it back in though.

It's normal. I get it all the time when anything is loading. I haven't had any problems so far either.

It's just the sound of the laser moving on the track while it's searching for data on the disk. When it's not loading something, then the disc isn't moving (the information needed is already loaded onto the RAM/Flash memory).

It's strange that I've seen two things today questioning how strong the Wii really is. I can see some good points from them. I've wondered exactly how strong the control system is for awhile.

Mario Kart Wii is kind of weird...the Wii wheel is awesome at first, but I tend to use the GCN controller more.

w00t, the first set of wii-ware games are out. I'm getting FF:CC MLaK now. It looks freaking sweet and has downloadable content too that I can snag latter, and the game is only 1500 points, or about $15.

Because it's not a racer as much as SSBB is a 'fighter' (think Tekken or DoA as a fighter)
A racer is Need for Speed or Burnout or Midnight club, I want to race cars and do E-turns to rock and metal tunes. Not ride around in gaily coloured carts shooting shells at people.

Mario Kart as a series is innovative compared to racing series' like Need for Speed.

I wouldn't say innovation, I'd say that they follow different set ups. Mario Kart is designed to support the Mario universe (so it uses a lot of primary colours and turtle sheels) whilst Need for Speed is meant to be a realistic game. The games are too different to be compared in my eyes.

Mario Kart is a party racer. Screw "new and innovative", I wan't a real racer, dangit!

Mario Kart isn't bad, but it's not a real racer. Nothing will change that.

And NFS is a good series. Though I'm not satisfied with Cabon in the slightest, and Pro Street dissapointed me. Poresche Unleashed was the best, and Most Wanted comes in second.

Defend Your Castle is a good one. It's only 500 Wii points, and you'll play it non-stop at first. You'll go back to it every now and again. Good value.

Not sure if it's out in Australia though...and I'm pretty sure it;s called Dr Mario & Germ Buster in Europe, so that's probably what your version will be.

Lost Winds looks interesting though. But the one thing I'm really interested in, is that they're finally letting you hook your DS up to the Wii. I'd like to see what they're going to do with the DS downloadable content. Game demos for now, but maybe they'll release apps or system updates?

FFCC: MLaaK is basically a SimCity-like game. Look at some videos for it before you buy it...but it's a really good game IMO.

Gameplay-wise, MLaaK has nothing to do with previous Crystal Chronicles games.

And I doubt the DS will be getting system updates due to its limited (zero?) storage space, though I'd be interested to see if they bring out something like DS-Ware, and sell blank cartridges to download games onto.

Same here. Most often I hear what WD mentioned during Brawl's (long) loading times, but never quite in that video.

Brawl's loading times varies depending on what you're doing. Sometimes they're very short, others, rather long.

The Wii loads your Brawl while you're selecting characters, so to avoid long loading times pick your character(s) and colors, then set CPU level, then set what sort of match you want, then stage, and with the amount of time it took to select all those things should mean that actual loading time will be fairly short.

Just don't change colors and characters a lot.

Ya know what I don't like about Brawl? There's no "Now loading" screen except for when Brawl goes through the start load and reload from playing the Masterpieces. Sometimes when I'm loading up, say, the Replay menu and it sits there for a while I wonder if I actually pressed the A button because the screen just freezes until it's finished loading. =/

Once you get good at Guitar Hero you'll find yourself wanting to keep going and getting better. The worst thing you can do is get stuck on a difficulty and stay there, ie, get to Normal and don't advance to Hard.

Funny you should ask that right now, because I got to play Guitar Hero for the first time in my life today. On Wii. I was expecting to be a little more impressed... This is just my opinion, but Guitar Hero's overrated. There's still quite a bit of popularity for it where I live. Anyways, when I frst tried my first Guitaro Hero game, which was II, I realized rght away that it was't that great. I LOVE DDR, but I just couldn't get into Guitar Hero. :\

Anyways, the Wii's annoying the crap out of me. I have two big problems with it:

The first problem is the fact that there aren't any RPGs but Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Paper Mario (Which I never liked anyways, lol). There is absolutely NO genre that can immerse me and keep me occupied more than the RPG. The fact that the Wii has virtually none of them bugs the living crap out of me, as the greatest games I've played in my life are Nintendo RPGs. If the Wii doesn't get more than FE: Radiant Dawn and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World, I might just turn to the 360, which, although it doesn't really have any RPGs I like, still has a bigger library of games I'd play. This is coming from someone who's been Nintendo obsessive forever.

The second problem is the way Nintendo freakin' caters to the casuals with the Wii yet totally blows off all the competitive players and people who want challenges in their games. I'm one of those people who loves challenges and sometimes plays competitively (And has fun doing it) and it annoys me to see that pretty much all the games on the Wii are really easy and have no challenge associated with them. Oh, and don't forget that Sakurai butchered what could have made Brawl even more competitive than Melee.

If someone tries to rebut with Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, those games are among some of the easiest I've played and are so not hardcore.

For first time Zelda players, I'd say Twilight Princess would have provided a fair (but not great) challenge.

Super Mario Galaxy was arguably one of the best games of this generation and certainly one of the more fantastic ideas we've seen in gaming recently. And I know some of you will disagree, that's fine - but millions of others would support my claim. There's no question about the lack of difficulty, but the game mechanics themselves more than make up for it.

I wonder if you guys have played Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Toned down slightly from the Prime titles, but still challenging (and satisfying) to beat.

With those exceptions, I heartily agree. And yes, I also agree with the lack of RPGs. Granted, Nintendo's never been big with RPGs (most of Nintendo's most important RPGs appear on its handhelds it seems), but it's definitely a frustrating weakness. Hence why I'm going back to my GBA and the original PlayStation to get my RPG-fill.
