Most girls at my school dont wear makeup. Of course, I can never get close enough to tell. But they definatly don't put it on with a paint brush.

Coming from a female, I NEED to wear makeup. Naturally, my skin is really blotchy and makeup covers all of that up. I wear pretty much everything on a daily basis, but I get complemented on how no one can tell that I have it on since I don't wear so much. The secret that most girls don't get is that less is more.

And I agree that heavy, garish makeup is only acceptable on halloween and if you're a tramp.

I'll agree with Wild Fox. I was talking about this with my sister before while she was putting on her make up. She says that foundation is a girls best friend because it just makes the skin look clearer or something like that.
But as a rule, lots of makeup will get the girl a bit of attention (like showing skin) but personally, I get over it pretty fast. It'd be like eating two minute noodles, you're full for a bit, but it doesn't last long and you want something decent.

Would it jeopardize things if I asked her out?

I had a similar situation, and I definitely agree with what's already been done. Just do it, say how you feel, don't be afraid. If you're good enough friends, you'll stay friends even if she says no. Being honest is the best thing that's ever happened to me. In ways it can be a curse because it opens you up to the world of gossip and deceit. But if you trust her, just do it. Good luck.

I personally think that no serious relationship is made during the middle school and high school years because your body is still adjusting to the changes. Also the fact that usually high school couples breaks up more often than not. If the guy doesn't and can't think of the girl as a date then fine. Just for the record: I like the riddler and I think he is an awesome character, with a cool way of doing things, but I am not as obsessed as I seemed to be. WD is right. Being single means I save so much money for other activites. Like buying groceries, hitting a bar, and clubing. Not that I do the last two that much. But I do get to go to basketball games, and the occational arena football game. The cheap seats for thoses are still good seats, at about $10 each. Although I am trying to win over this one girl in a class of mine. I might see if she wants to go to a game after classes let out next week. Alright fine. So there are a selective few. Keyword being "Few". Personally, I have a "hot" friend. She wasn't so hot in 6th grade when I first met her, and she was one of the sweetest people I met. Over time she became prettier, and I watched as her "sweetness" faded, and now she's become just as shallow as the majority of them. She's so afraid to get her hands dirty, and all she thinks about is herself.

Looks aren't everything, but there has to be attraction. I prefer cute girls for sure rather than a hot blonde. xD, to me looks are only for first impression. When I went to college, I met girls of many personalities and looks. After knowing them, most of my female friends are 'average'. I think it was because they were able to hold an interesting conversation, relate to me, and most of all, the 'average' girls were also intelligent.

I'm not a player by any means. You also have to remember culture plays a big part in what you consider sleazy. European girls are sterotypically sleazy while in Asia girls are very conservative. Here in the US, were pretty old school.
