The only way to breed Evee that I've heard of is with a ditto and evee. But there aren't any ditto's in the advanced series. Does anyone know if there are any in D/P?

Just because Ditto can mate with any pokemon, doesn't mean it's the only option for breeding.

I'm certain Eevee can mate with other pokemon as well.

Well I know that no other pokemon can breed with others except ditto. I'm not sure about evee, but it'd be kinda cool if you could breed it with a fire type like Arkanine, and get a Flareon, and be able to do that with other types as well.

um, you can use two gba's to get the bigger cartridges eevees to the smaller ones (ruby sapphire emerald), and then use the ds to get it from one ds to another.

That's pretty good. But I don't remember it being possible to transfer between Color and Advanced games. I new you could for Blue, etc. to Crystal, etc., but I haven't played in a long while so I can't remember.

Isaacrules, what are you on about? R/B/Y/G/S/C are permanently seperate from R/S/E/FR/LG. They also didn't bother remaking Gold & Silver because all 386 Pokemon are available without it. That, and it would force people to buy a Gamecube for Collosseum.

Eevee's evolutions are named Glacia (not to be confused with the Hoenn Elite Four member) and Leafia. I think we might have a change to Glaceon and Leafeon. Personally, I think they sound better changed.

And, a new feature is similar to the headbutt feature from Gold and Silver. Different Trees across Shinou provide habitat to certain pokemon. To get to them, you must spread items over them. The known item so far is Sweet Honey. This item can be obtained by interacting with Flowers or using Mitsuhoney's ability. Aipom and Heracross are lured by it, to name a few.

Let me start by saying that we have a great deal of legendary Pokemon out there. And with that, comes a lot of new Pokeballs like the Dark Ball (captures pokemon at night), the Health Ball (heals the pokemon upon capture), and the Quick Ball (Decreases capture rate every 5 turns).

Pokemon Diamond has 19 exclusive Pokemon, while Pearl has 20. Both have their ups and downs, however.

Eevee can't be evolved into its 'night/day' forms in the advance generations, IIRC. But only in to its Fire/Water/Ice forms in FireRed/LeafGreen. I know that Eevee isn't even found in Ruby/Sapphire.

And it's understandable why DE thought you were talking about D/P. After all, it's the D/P topic. So don't start to kick up a tantrum cuz of that x.x

I just got Diamond yesterday. Even with all the new pokemon/items/thingies it's still not all that much of a change, save for the 3-Dish effects. It could've been a lot better had they included 3-D effects in battle. My opinion, is that it's not worth $35 unless you're a fan of the game. I'd wait for a price drop.

But don't base your descision on that, it's still a decent game, and you won't hate yourself for paying $35 to get it.

[EDIT] BTW, I've only gotten to the town where the professor's lab is. Been leveling there, so I can't really give a good opinion on the game. But I'll give it a 7/10.

Without any Pokemon advance games inserted into your DS, how many Pokemon can be caught in Pokemon Pearl?

Inserting GBA games provides you with only 5 more Pokemon each to catch. Not only that, but you can only catch them once you beat the Elite 4.

In both Diamond and Pearl, you can catch nearly every Sinn'oh Pokemon in one version. Once you've seen every Sinn'oh Dex Pokemon (Which you can do without trading), Prof. Oak will stop by Prof. Rowan's lab and give you the National Dex. After that, you can catch some previous generation Pokemon in another place.

Overall, what I'm saying is that, of the 493 Pokemon you can get in Diamond and Pearl, the majority of them come from transferring the Pokemon from the GBA games (Which you can only do after beating the Elite 4).

Getting Emerald would probably be a good idea. =D It's the only GBA version in which you can get all the Pokemon thus far at that point. You should probably get FireRed/LeafGreen too, just for the legendaries and more Pokemon. As a matter of fact, I know which Pokemon appear in D/P when a certain GBA game is in the GBA slot of the DS. Yeah, you're probably better off just getting Emerald. I just wanna say that, if you wanna get all the R/B/Y and G/S/C Pokemon in Emerald (Aside from most legendaries), you need to get the National Dex in the game, meaning you need to own all the Pokemon in the Hoenn Dex. :blink:

I'm never bothered about filling the pokedex, it's too long and ard and annoying and time consuming. I heard that. It's true slightly, you can go underground and dig for treasure, and set up bases ect. You can play capture the flag, from your friends base, and set traps, and if you get it, a boulder can be removed from your base ( which cant be removed any other way.) I bought Diamond because I prefer the color of blue over pink. But diamond also contains the one pokemon whose attack is higher than anyone elses. On the other hand, Pearl has 20 exclusives whereas Diamond has 19.

Whats the difference between Diaruga and Piriaka or w/e they're called? Anything major, because if not then i'll just pick randomly.

Here are the major differences:

1. Dialga is Dragon/Steel, while Palkia is Dragon/Water.

2. Dialga's unique move is Roar of Time, a 140 power move that is basically a Dragon-type version of Hyper Beam. Palkia's unique move is Spacial Rend, a 100 power Dragon-type move that has a high critical hit ratio.

3. Dialga has better HP and Defense, whereas Palkia has better Special Defense and Speed.

Yeah I know, I ordered from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. Its an unoepned American copy, but dispatched from the UK (ie, the seller has already imported them) so I should have it within a couple of days. Cheaper than would find in shops as well, only about £25 for each game.

I got some money for my birthday and cba waiting till end of July for it. It'll work perfectly fine on my European DS anyway.

On another note, I started EV training an Adamant Chimchar of mine earlier today. It's now a Lv. 19 Monferno with 166 EVs in Attack and 146 EVs in Speed. I now need 86 more EVs in Attack and 106 more EVs in Speed to finish EV training it.

You probably know Togepi, that cute little egg Pokemon. It was introduced in Gold/Silver along with its evolution, Togetic. In Diamond/Pearl, with a new type of evolutionary stone (The Shiny Stone), Togetic can evolve into Togekiss (the top-right Poke in my sig).

On to EVs...EV = Effort Value. Every single Pokemon, when defeated, nets the Pokemon who gained its experience its EVs. For every four EVs gained in one stat, the stat goes up by one point. The max amount of EVs for one stat is 255. Therefore, if a Pokemon is fully EV-trained in one stat, it'll end up with 63 more points in that stat than if it wasn't EV-trained in it at all. Basically, If you train your team against fast pokemon (such as Zubat), your pokemon will become faster. If you train against pokemon with high defense (such as Geodude), your pokemon will get higher defense. Since there is a limit on the Maximum number of EVs your pokemon can have (516 about), you can specialise your pokemon and train aginst certain opponents to make your team much faster/stronger/better defense than usual.

If you just play through the game normally, and fight any and all opponents with each member of your squad, you'll quickly fill up your EVs in all the categories pretty evenly,
so you'll have something like these EVs:

HP: 86
Attk: 86
Sp Attk: 86
Def: 86
Sp Def: 86
Speed: 86

(Note that these are EVs and not Stat points, but as Gsninja said, 4 Evs = 1 Stat point, so in addition to gaining stats by normal levelling up, by the time you've reached your maximum EV limit you'll have about 21 extra points in each stat)

Now, if you get a newly hatched/caught pokemon, it'll come with 0 Evs, so when training it up, you can choose certain enemy pokemon to fight to make it stronger in certain areas. Say we train our pokemon only against opponents who give Speed and Attk EVs, then we might get the following EV spread:

HP: 0
Attk: 255
Sp. Attk: 0
Def: 0
Sp.Def: 0
Speed: 255

This means that compared to an identical pokemon that was raised normally by progressing through the game (and has about the same (90) Evs in each stat, our pokemon would have 21 less stat points in HP, Sp Attk, Def and Sp. def, but 42 more stat points in Attk and Speed, which is A LOT.

When EV training, people most commonly spread the Evs to get boosts in the areas which their pokemon are naturally strong. Blissey for example usually has a very large amount of HP compared to other pokemon, but a Blissey that has 255 EVs in HP has an obscene amount of HP.

You may be thinking that you'd be at a disadvantage to have 0 in some EVs, but this very rarely matters in competitive battling. A Primeape for example, will usually have purely physical moves and so there is no need to have any EVs in Sp. Attk, as primeape doesn't use his Sp. Attk stat.

Similarly, when playing in high level competitive battling, against other EV trained pokemon, boosting your Defense or Sp. Defense stats is unecessary, as more often than not your going to be knocked out in one by a super effective attack even with 86 Evs in Sp/Def, so you're better not doing any Sp/Def EV training and useing them in Attk and Speed where they will help you cause more damage.

The last point about EVs is that, as shown in the link GSninja posted, more powerful pokemon reward more EVs. Whereas Zubat only rewards 1 EV in Speed, defeating a Crobat will reward you with 3 EVs in Speed.

Its kind of right. You can Max all your EVs at really low levels, but the stat boosts associated with them (4 EVs --> 1 Stat point) don't start appearing till higher levels. You won't get the total stat point increase till level 100.

However, When battling online over Wifi there is the option to play your team all at level 100. The game then calculates the stats that your pokemon would have at level 100 (taking into account EVs), so although your pokemon may only be level 60 in the game and only have some of the stat boosts from EVs, when playing online it can be boosted to level 100 to gain all the stat boosts from EVs (and from normal levelling up)

In every Pokemon game, that rule has applied. =P However, it only applies to Pokemon from a trade. If the Pokemon is yours (You caught it, hatched it, etc.), it doesn't matter what level it is, it'll always obey you. =D If it's a traded Pokemon, here are the levels:

No Badges: Lv. 10
Two Badges: Lv. 30 or Below
Four Badges: Lv. 50 or Below
Six Badges: Lv. 70 or Below
Eight Badges: All Pokemon will do your bidding. =D
