Eugine, you don't even live here. That's not even remotely how it works. I can't remember what his name is, but he was a conservative democrat in either the house or senate. The democrats didn't like him, so he registered as an 'other' instead of democratic or republican, and STILL got back in for another term as a senator/house rep. That right there proves that you don't HAVE to be a part of either party.

As for the News media, it is true that they control a lot of the stuff that goes on, but they don't control the elections entirely. CNN is heavily Democratic though. Fox News may lean more towards the Republicans, but they have more Democrats on the air than CNN has Republicans.

And maybe the reason why people who aren't Christians have a lower chance, is because the majority of Americans say that they're Christians.
