I don't think it will matter if there's a petition or anything like that. It's been three years since the last GS game and I don't think Nintendo will even consider it for the characters in SSBR. Compared to other games that Nintendo has created in the last five years, GS has a much smaller following.

Well, I actually came up with two original moves for Isaac. One of them would be Ragnarok: it would be a giant sword(duh) that flies horyzontaly to the other end of the stage. When the sword hits something with it's edge, it explodes, dealing big damage to any characters that are close by. Also, Isaac could jump onto it after using the move and attack from there.
The second move would be Condemn. It would have a small chance of succeding(like Luigi's B+UP), but if used right would deal massive damage(around 70 or 80%) to one foe, but the enemy that was hit wouldn't fly away at all from the force of the attack, but would stay put.

Also, I think Isaac is more popular than Ness, who hasn't had a new game in what? Ten years? And I think I already said this before, but the Ice Climbers stared in a game about 15 years ago. If they can put them, then they can put anyone.

But those characters are part of original series that Nintendo produced. That is why they are in and Isaac is not. GS was produced by Camelot. If you think about it, very few characters in SSB are not from games produced by Nintendo. The Pokemon are the exception. Game Freak produced the Pokemon games.

Your overpowering him waaay too much. Codemn shouldn't be stronger then likes of Charge Shot or Falcon Punch. Also that range of Ragnarok isn't fair. I would make it more like a charging sword attack with the animation as a little eye toy. n.n And then again, I think Ness is even more populair by now. SSB boosted Ness fame alot. :P So I think (and hope) Isaac will not be in.

I agree, the best move in SSBM was Roy's charged sword and that only did 50 damage. I think Isaac would be more quickness than power. But once again.... (read my last post)

Felix was more power. Give Isaac ragnarok (sideways sword strike, maybe 20 damage max) and Felix Oddyssey (make it stronger, and with stunning ability, p'raps)

^ Yeah that sounds more like it. Still, 2 GS characters? Nawh, then they might end up adding Waddle Dee and Pidgey or something <.< GS isn't the only sucessfull game from the past few years anyways, and in Japan they hated it. Sure you might think that's not a big reason but think about it, Marth and Roy where also in just because Fire Emblem's sucess in Japan, Jigglypuff is almost as "loved" as Pikachu is in Japan while here in the Western continents Jiggs is just some other one of the 400 (?) Pokemon. So no, Isaac nor Felix in SSBR, it's pretty much possible we would never see those characters again. Get over with it.

If they did put Issac in the game, there is no way he could become a clone. His psy energy is WAY different than Ness's, and they could easilly put his psycic powers in the game. As for his up B recovery, have you ever heard of hover from GS: The Lost Age?

Three things. One, look at Ganondorf. His powers were way different than his SSB ones. Two, Hover doesn't fit Isaac. Ever notice how, in Ragnarok, he jumps *UP* before attacking? And three, Isaac has a slim chance of being in SSBR.

True. Well actually, it's not entirely impossible, but considering Golden Sun has only had two entries, and a third is still non-existent... I actually feel it's more likely we'll get trophies of characters from the game, or at best, an arena dedicated to a Golden Sun area.

There were trophies of Cubivore and Animal Crossing characters in SSBM, and with an upcoming Camelot game, I think it would be wise in making characters from that trophies rather than adding characters in there.

I think there will certainly be something like trophies. Everyone who played SSBM loved this added feature and it makes an excuse for the creators to say: "THERE ARE OVER 300 UNLOCKABLES!!!" :blink: They may add collectible TOYS! Think of the possibilities...

And yeah, Ganondorf SHOULD have his own moveset. He has so many moves from the few Zelda games he has appeared in that it would just be a shame to leave him as a Falcon clone.

But look at the Ice climbers again, they hadn't had a game in what, 20 years? they still got into SSBM, and since GS has only been inbetween games for three years so far what does that tell you? I think that because of that and the fact that we don't know for sure what characters will be in SSBR except for Mario, that it's safe to assume that just about any character from any nintendo game could wind up in SSBR. Though it would be wicked cool to have GS characters in there. Just imagine Isaac casting ragnarok in the middle of the arena and taking everybody out. (too much power)

I don't think Isaac is more powerful then Roy or Marth. <.< Your very much overrestimate him.

Anyways Ice Climbers where one of Nintendo's first games, and they published it themselfs. Also the game Ice Climbers was transfered from the NES to GBA last year that means that they where one of the more populair games back then.

Must everything HAVE to be exactly like the game? Look at Ganondorf again. HE had no moves like the ones in his game. Same with Mewtwo. His shadow ball was the only *correct* type of attack. They may alter Isaac if ever he gets in to suit the needs of SSBR. Ice climbers was very popular and TRADITIONAL way back when, and Nintendo wanted to make them an appearance. Ditto for Mr. Game and Watch. GS may not be popular, even with a third game, so we can't really expect Isaac and Felix or some other adept to make it in. Remember, if Camelot's game comes out at the same time as SSBM, then people who haven't played the new game wound't understand where he came from nor the sudden appearance.

Well, before my friend got a Fire Emblem game, I had no idea where Marth or Roy came from. And say I'm in denial, I don't care, but I don't think we can rule out any nintendo owned character, yet. And that part about Isaac destroying everything on the stage was sarcasm.

You have an odd way of showing it, then. Marth and Roy were extremely popular in Japan. That's why they were successful. NoA probably wanted to advertise upcoming Fire Emblems, so they kept Marth/Roy in.

I know the story behind Marth's and Roy's appearance in Smash Bros. Japanese fans pleaded Nintendo to add Marth and so they did. They put Roy in for advertising, because his FE game wasn't even released back then. Nintendo then actually wanted to throw out Marth and Roy for the American, European... versions as no one knew who they were, but decided to leave them in because they had an original fighting style. It's good they left them in the game, because the two became hugely popular in North America because of SSBM and, in a way, created a market for the Fire Emblem francise in the whole world.

Yeah, I lost my VBA a while ago, it doesn't work great on my slow computer. It's too bad it won't come here though, they left the end of FE open ended.

If Roy does come back I think they should make his charging sword less powerful and make it shorter to power up.

Marth is still my favourite. Speed kills. Marth is light and fast, which means I can dish out combo after combo. Finishes the job pretty quickly if I do say so myself. I can't seem to perfect the wavedashing, though. How does this work again?

Short hop and air dogde when your not still on in the air. Meh I barely wadedash because DK's rolling has more range then the wavedash. Short hopping while in the middle of the fight still doesn't always work for me though.

I don't like Marth because he's not strong enough against some of the harder CPU's (Ganondorf, Mewtwo). I need time to think about what moves I use on an enemy, so Roy gives me the time I need and if I catch an enemy off guard, I can just use the Smash move that knocks them pretty far away.

What version of the game do you have? I got PAL, it apears that Marth is kinda downpowered in my version. Still I think Marth is kinda better then Roy, the only thing you need is timing for slashing with the tip of his sword, this is great because this will give you more range and more power. Not that I know. I heard Fox's recovery is worse and Sheik's aerial moves are slightly weaker. It's just somewhat more balanced.

My brother is 10 and he wins 25% of the time, mostly because I don't try. I need to play against people at my skill level.

My brother is 19 years old and I beat him about 60% of the time. That's just because I have played the game much more than he has, because I have much more free time than him.

My younger brother and I are about equal in skill. Our battles tend to be very close, especially with similarities between characters (I use Marth, he uses Roy, I prefer Link, he uses Young Link, etc.)

Well I practice mostly again my friend. He's not all good, he plays Fox and Peach I go with DK and destroy him. Altough it's not that easy since he spams projectiles alot and DK being huge and slow is very weak for that. Also he has no defence in mid air so I can juggle him good with DK's Up Air attack.

I was wondering, with the controller, would you be moving your wrist left to right to move, and a flick up would be jump? That might be a good idea and I wondered if anyone thought of it yet.

That seems like a fair assumption to make. It should be pointed out that the trailer that was shown demoing the Revolution's controller exaggerates some bits; chances are, you won't really swing your controller completely from side to side, for example, to swing a sword. I mean, yes, you could, but as Miyamoto demonstrated, it's much simpler just to hold the controller and use flicking motions with the wrist, as you suggested.

Yes, Nintendo has stated that the joystick attachement (AKA: The Nunchuck) will come with the Revolution. I think the buttons will be for attacking, but maybe how you flick it will determine what attack it will be, if its up down, strong or a smash move.

Blade Lord Lyn, it's not as if multiplayer games won't exist in real life, as that of course is one of the games highlights. It will just be an additional option to play and explore other players online.

Of course, I do agree that there are risks in entering an online service, but Nintendo has traditionally not usually seen things like piraters, hackers, etc. (yes, there have been reports recently, but those are far and few in between).

I'm saying, I wouldn't want to enter an online tournament if there was something at stake. Though thinking about it now, I doubt they'd give out prizes based on the results of an online tournament. At best, they may have an outright "Tournament Setup" for online. . . and at worst, we'd just have to organize it ourselves.

Not that that's bad though. Halo 2 brings bad experiences.

Which proves a problem. On Melee, it takes forever to set up, even with about 5 people. Imagine the chaos trying to have an 8 team tag match, and stryinh to set that up. They would definatly need something to sort that out, or chaos is sure to ensue

But it would just be TOO chaotic. Even Hyrule Temple in SSBM isnt big enough for such a fight and really do we need another stage that big? ^_^ I dont think so... And image Pokeballs and Bob-ombs at very high, it would be too chaotic and perhaps even laggy.

And remember lots of characters are not good either with items or good at free for all fights which will make fast characters like Fox and Marth even more "Up Tier" than they already are. Nobody would care about Bowser or Mewtwo because their slow, and with 7 or characters they can't defend themselfs. So no please no 8 player matches, 4 is good enough.

DiddyKong, Smash Bros. Rev WILL be free to play online... well, almost. All you have to do is connect the Revolution to your PC and use your computer internet time. Like the DS. That's about it. You don't have to pay anything more than PC internet time. All first partie games will need no added payment, though third partys will choose whether they want money for their games to go online or not... If you understand what I'm saying?

I was also talking about a tag team match. I also think that 8 characters on the screen at once would be way too much, but tag team would be pretty awesome. You could sub off with a switch of a button, it could be a great feature that they could add to the game.

I think as far as gameplay is concerned, there are a few more single player things they could do. I was disappointed with the single player in SSBM, there could have been a lot more I thought, even though it was an improvement over the original SSB.

Yeah. It was very strange seeing Link in the mushroom kingdom. Each player should have their own story mode. That would be a bit much, but it would be amazing if it was pulled off. In rev smash, they also need to fix the proportions. It's quite scary, seeing marth next to yoshi, i mean, yoshi's head is way bigger than Marth's, but marth is a lot taller.

It's not as much that as the hype they put around the SSBM, saying that it would be a much-improved SSBM. Well, it was improved, but the Adventure mode wasn't that great. It definitely didn't live up to my expectations.

Classic mode didn't impress me either, not all star. All in all, 1 player was a bit crap. They really need an improvement on it. I mean " Break the targets?" What's up with that? Come on, nintendo has done loads better before.

I think if they want to do mini-games like "Break the Targets", they should add more so that the opus isn't on the two different games they had in SSBM.

I hated the 'Break the Targets' part of the game. For one thing I was pretty bad at it, but it's not really an interesting idea. Compared to the rest of the game it was dull.

I think Break the Targets should stay if they add other games to make up for it's shortcomings. If you take the focus off the marginal games by adding marginal games, you get a better overall game.

Break The Targets was fun. I like it.

Anyway, I think the Adventure and All-Star modes were quite good. Open for impovements, but still... And I liked seeing Link travel through the Mushroom Kingdom! :wacko: That's actually the point of the game, combining areas and characters from many gaming series.

Yeah true but Adventure Mode has to be better than in SSBM. I liked still like the adventure mode now but it doesn't gives any suprises anymore. They should make alot of those platform stages and they all apear at random with a fight agains the character which the stage belongs to. Like Mushroom Kingdom, you could end up fighting with Mario, Luigi or Peach. But what about Yoshi or Bowser? They should make platform stages for those characters to. Like Yoshi's Island and Bowser's Castle. And the Zelda stages could be Hyrule Castle for Link and Zelda and Ganon's Tower for Ganondorf. If they make adventure mode like that people would play it more.

The MP2: Echoes world was real neat. I want that to become a stage with a burning passion. Hopefully Fire Emblem gets a stage, too. Now that FE is popular in the US, there might as well be. I suggest Dragon's Gate and Darkling Woods.

SWEET! Or mabey one of the elemental mountains? Any way, I still think they should put GS characters in there. The GS community is still quite large, and most of the people would get it solely because it had GS characters in it. That would add a TON of sales. And they should have a stage specifically unique for every character. As well as some of the old stages. And I also think it would be better to have the movement, and the direction of attack, with the nunchuck. It would be awsome if the stages were in a 3-D format, but still with platforms you could jump onto, like in Halo. But that would make it harder to see where people are, although it would allow you to sneak up on people.

At this point, unless there is a GS3, no one would solely buy it for the GS characters, but because it was a Super Smash brothers game and is very popular.

A stage per character is too much. Think, there will no doubt be Past Stages, Battlefield, and Final Destination. Too much.

That last thing you mentioned would turn SSB into a First-Person Shooter which is not the point of Smash Brothers. It's supposed to be a side-scrolling free-for-all. It would ruin its fun if it had to resort to being split-screen, too.

But you gotta admit the Lighthouse stage would be a sweet idea. And what kind of items from Golden Sun should they put in there if they did? I honestly can't think of anything right now, but there might be something from Golden Sun that could be used as a good item.

Probably herbs and stuff as food. For items, I'd love to see an elemental star. When you trhow it, it deals continuous damage in 5 consecutive weak hits. Perfect for throwing them off guard.

That is if there are GS characters in the game. I agree, with MD though, there's no way they can turn SSB into a first-person shooter. It's a fighting game at heart, and it's going to stay that way through all it's iterations. AND, the Lighthouse sounds like an awesome place for a stage.

maybe they could have more "status effects". You know how you can freeze people and stuff like that? Maybe being on fire and other stuff can actually do continous damage to the character. And how about being poisened? Maybe have 1% damage happen every second until you find the right healing item. It could be the Antidote from Pokemon, with the needle and everything.

They would probably go with the ones that were the last ones of the games, either Venus or Mars I believe. Personally I would go with Venus, since you notice in the fight scenes you can notice it goes from day light to creepy darkness right around it gets lited. Maybe if some one is standing near the Orb or right over it they get blasted automaticly. Also it would be interesting to see the "Merged" dragon of the lighthouse to come and fire a move at the characters.

Indeed, the clone idea was a bad idea. Ganondorf should have been a projectile character all the way. Most of his attacks in LoZ: OoT were energy attacks and the such. The thing is, he is also pretty built, so giving him some nice physical attacks wouldn't be such a bad idea.
And I've also thought of a new areana that would be tight. The top of Hyrule Castle, during the final fight scene in LoZ: TWW. With the water coming down all around, that would just look tight.

I think Nintendo would suffer if they didn't show the Rev at E3. It's the largest stage, and even though they showed the controller at the Tokyo Game Show, I don't think they can afford to wait for that event this time. I agree with SoT, if Nintendo wants more support for the Revolution, E3 would be the perfect time to finally fully unvail the Rev. The greatest thing to boost support would to have playable demos of the launch games. That would give the gaming media actual experience with it, allowing them to evaulate it and what not. That would mean having a playable demo of SSBR, which would mean videos and screen shots.

I can see GS characters being on that list ^_^ But about the stages. In SSBM, there WAS a stage for every character. The stages weren't EXACTLY talored to the characters that were assigned to them, but they came close. ( Every played in all-star mode?)

Perhaps, but I think Epharim from the GBA FE game is a lil better choice. He is the first Lord with a lance and could be a Luigified clone (a clone with some more uniqueness like Luigi to Mario) of Marth with a little more power and range but slower. Also I could image him throwing a Javelin when you press the B button, it could be like Link's arrow but doesn't come as far and its stronger.

There aren't many more proppel villians around anymore, I could think of King K. Rool and King DeDeDe but they lack populairity. Still I think K. Rool would make a more intressting character. He's got a big ass cannon gun which you could use to shoot and smash people with. Metaknight although IS a populair character and I think he'll be in just because SSB needs another Kirby character and Metaknight is one of the main enemies.

Oh, and thougth Ephraim would be a real history-makign character, I still can't see him in SSB. I'd swign towards the legends, like Ike, being at godly status, or traditional Marth/Roy. If Ephraim, at least pair him up with Eirika.

I agree entirely. Meta Knight would fit well into the next SSB, and I can imagine him having some similarities with Kirby in terms of technique. Ridley would be difficult to balance against the other characters.

Depending on the success of Metroid Prime Hunters, we may even see some of those new Bounty Hunters included in the next SSB. Noxus anyone?

That's a good idea, I never considered NPC bosses as a possible option. And yes, I'm certainly not expecting all six new bounty hunters to appear, but perhaps the most popular one (again, based on the success of Metroid Prime Hunters, and which of the new hunters is played the most).

Another feature? Well what do you think of a 2 player Race to the Finish? It could totally work out. One lil problem maybe that some characters outrun others but that problem can be solved by obstables and diffrent paths to take. Like in SSBM you didnt wanted the highest path with BOwser since there are spikey floors and so but the 3th path was perfect for Bowser since his Up B move was well suited for it.

Race to the finish with 2 players would be a good addition. Mabey even a 2 player break the targets? :P There would be a handful of courses, and more than 10 targets. Mabey 20 targets. And the winner would be decided by whoever breaks the most targets. It's an idea.

I think there would be at least 500 trophies this next time if they include some or all of the previous trophies. And for all those Pokemon trophies, they would have some from Fire Red/Leaf Green, and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. There will definatly be new FE trophies, and if the RPG that Camelot's making for the Rev is GS3, there will definately at least be GS trophies.

I'd like to shift the conversation slightly, if that's all right.

Remember, the Revolution will fully embrace the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The next Super Smash Brothers will ideally not only use this for online battles, but also for downloadable content and updates.

Imagine if new trophies, items, or even characters/arenas were introduced over time, expanding the game to new possibilities.

I think I've already said this before... Nintendo said that playing online will be FREE. Also, as far as I know, downloading games will be free too. That means that downloading new content for games will also be free... probably.

Anyway, that's a great idea Golden Legacy. It would extend the gameplay and replay value of the game.

Sports titles today have free roster updates using online play. I can't see why Nintendo would make us pay to update trophy lists, it's pretty much the same idea.
