There is nothing confirmed about a Super Smash Brothers sequel. Yes, it could perhaps be released for the Revolution, the successor to the GameCube, but I have heard [more reliable] rumours that a port of the N64 game may be expected to surface for the Nintendo DS.

Who knows? This could all be a part of the huge announcement Nintendo has planned to give for the DS. But enough of that.

I've been experimenting with Marth more and I've gotten better at using him. Now he's one of the characters I'm most comfortable with.

It's easy to slide into using Marth as he is such a versatile character. I would say he's probably the best character there is if you're new to the game (I know you arent GSN^^) I think i'd say the more complex to use characters are G&W and maybe Pichu. The ones who generally do really badly..

Link is so slow though (as has been said sooo many times). I just cant use slow characters as i always make plans that involve them moving about faster than they actually can. I guess if i spent time practicing with Link i would get that out of my system but i tend to get caught out when i play as someone slow.

Im pretty good with slow characters. I dont know but Mewtwo and DK are my best chars I think... Maybe it's because the slow moves need timing and I have got that. Or it's just luck... :)

your reasoning can be applied to every character in the game. Even G&W can be good if you perfect your skills. It's all about knowing what moves to use in what situation, and becoming accustomed to the ups and downs of the character.

Fox falls quickly so you have to use fire fox or whatever asap, or simply avoid dangerous situations as much as possible, and use his speed to run away or get in and kill them first.

Roy's B move is an incredibley cheap move, since it can KO a character with 0% damage in one fully-charged hit. I like Marth's B move because it's not cheap, but it's still pretty powerful.

For some reason, I love the fan. Although it's pretty weak in hand to hand combat, it's super fast and fun to use. Also, it's pretty good when thrown. Its throwing power definitely increased from SSB.

I always throw the fan. If the target's damage is high enough, it'll knock them up and out. In that way, it can work wonders. :D

Damage does have to be pretty high, though, like 200+ at least.

Yes, it is superbly powerful, and it is especially deadly in the hands of a swift character. Notably, my best character, Marth :P

Question: How and when is the Fire Emblem theme heard in Hyrule Temple? Yes, I understand that one of the characters would have to be Roy and/or Marth, but are there any other requirements? I say this simply because I often choose Hyrule Temple expecting to hear that theme, but it turns out otherwise...

Yeah right. She's got plenty of power and speed, you probably don't have experience using her to her full potential. Although her B moves, except B+Down, aren't too good, all her A attacks more than make up for that.

Evidentely, you are not experienced enough to know the full extent of Sheik's strength. Let me assure you that she is an extremely difficult opponent to face.

As gsninja stated, Sheik's strength comes from her superb A-techniques and her speed. Take her dashing attack for instance; it is ridiculously quick, and is very difficult to avoid. Sheik can repeatedly do that move, essentially leaving you defenseless as she constantly attacks you, and it usually ends (for me, at least) with a Up+A Smash blow.

Not to mention Sheik is so totally cool.

Sheik's my favorite character. She's a ninja! What can be cooler than a female ninja with uber awesome attacks?

Normally, when my opponent's in the air, I hit them with a <+A or >+A move while she's facing forward, which is a slapping attack, and IMO, it's one of her better A moves.

Actually, I prefer her Up+A attack while in mid-air, which is extremely effective when the opponent has a decent amount of damage. Interestingly, she also has one of those "Meteor Smash" attacks, which are also effective.

And yes, I agree; nothing is cooler than a female ninja :D

Yeah, her Up+A move is a very effective move as well, preferably used when the opponent is higher in the air. I love her Down+A move when she's on the ground. It's like a kind of breakdancing attack. It's one of her coolest A moves.

Sheik has the spped, not Zelda. Zelda's slow, but still has powerful magical attacks. One of her more useful moves is Naryu's Love (:mellow:, which can damage and can also deflect projectile attacks, such as Mario's Fireball.

Nayr's Love is by far one of the most useful, versatile, and nicely animated techniques in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Having said that, I was quite surprised to learn the first time I used Zelda/Sheik that their vanishing techniques (B+Up) actually cause damage to a nearby opponent.

I used Skull Bask fully charged at Mario, he used the cape and the attack came on Ganondorf (who had like 135% damage) and so I killed Ganondorf with that. XD I laighed the whole day long about that.

The attack is called Skull Bash, not Bask (just wanted to point that out).

I don't use DK simply because he's too slow. Yes, he's big and powerful, but he isn't quick enough to strike most characters or react to their attacks. However, he's definitely faster than Bowser, who's probably the cheapest computer controlled character at level 9.

Computer-controlled characters also, apparently, put Pokeballs as a high priority among items. I have noticed that they will disregard the environment and simply walk over to where a Pokeball is, to use it.

Pokeballs aren't really cheap. The Home Run Bat is. When fighting with a computer controlled character on my team, as you guys said, they will normally get a healing item or pokeball before I do. I hate when they get healing items when they have 0% damage and I have 50% or above, or something like that. @.@

Normally when I see a pokeball appear I try to rush to it to make sure the CPU doesn't get it. They commonly get godly pokemon (Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Zapdos, Moltres, Atricuno, etc...) out of them, too, so it's important that you try to keep them away.

Oh, and not to mention that when someone gets a super star or a hammer, all the CPUs run to the opposite side of the stage that the affected person is on. On a small stage, I might grab a super star, then pick up a bob-omb and throw it at them for an easy KO. :D

I once did something funny with my friend on SSBM with mines and bombs. I was Zelda and he was Peach, we where both Handicap 1 and we fought Bowser and Ganondorf (both handicap 9 and CPU lvl 9) in Hyrule Temple. Friendly Fire was on and the damage ratio was 0.5, and I stressed alot with it! When you only use items they die so damn slow! Bowser didnt even died when he had 600%, he was on the edge and I threw a bomb in his face... And when they attack each other they die at +/- 200%... Strange... :)

I always like to do slow-mo melee, and use ganandorf, he is so slow, so his moves are slow. It is really cool when I use the big punch, (holding on the B button), and I hit him, it is the best in slow-mo.

I tried it out.
You can't imagine (maybe you can) being the last 2 left, your normal (as normal as Bowser gets in giant melee) facing a Bowser with the Metal Box and Super Shroom equipt. That hurt, plain old HURT!

Yeah, that would have to hurt, metal and super mushroom combined make a pretty fearsome combination in any battle, and maybe you should have the parasol as well, so that, if you're metal, you won't fall down too fast, especially off the edge.

This is Giant Melee. You're Pichu, you've taken a tiny mushroom and are at normal size. You're against Ganondorf, he's taken a super mushroom and a metal block, making him super big and heavy. You jump up to him and he hits you with his B punch move and you're at 146%...

That's got to hurt, doesn't it?

Two things:

Best Multiplayer ever! Items on very high with only the pokeball to use. That is pure mayhem! Me and my brother did it and it was sooo much fun. I'm sure you've all tried this before though.

What would the best character be to beat the two hands in Event #50? I'm having a hard time beating it and I really want to unlock the Final Destination stage in VS.

Tsk, tsk. Thats 51 to get Final Dest. Link is probablly best because he can hit 2 at once.

On another note I have developed a hate for: Super Shrooms, Giga Bowser and my friend.

He was just here playin Adventure on Hard..he had to leave (he was tryin to get Giga Bowser trophy) and left me to do it. So what happens? A Super goes at Giga and....
Giga Bowser + Super Mushroom= TERA BOWSER!

Use Link, that is what I did, do down A and up B, you will die a couple of times, but then you will get a good strategy, that is what I did.

Event Match 50? Use Ganondorf's up smash! If you fully charge it it can do like 45 damage and thats much! Link's recovery is bad so dont use him. I used Mewtwo for this event match, but yeah, im just pro. ;)

Ganondorf dies pretty fast though, doesn't he? I'm better with CF and that wouldn't make much difference.

You also need a fast guy, to dodge them and all. Ganandorf wouldn't be a good character against him, IMO. You should use CF instead of ganandorf though, I think that would be best.

Event Match 50 was the battle between the two Master Hands, right? I agree that you should use a fast character or a character who can inflict multiple hits (i.e. Sheik, Link, Fox).

Yes that is true, but I don't think sheik is strong enough for them, same fox. I just do down A and I keep hitting him, it really worked.

You probably don't play around with Sheik long enough to realize her true potential. She's pretty powerful if you know how to use her, she's quick, and her A moves are, IMO, the best A moves in the game, they are executed so nicely...

Fox is actually pretty powerful too, his Up+A move being an excellent move to use on anyone. He's a bit faster than Sheik, but Sheik's more efficient.

Sheik has some great side smash move. That double kick is soooo cool.

I don't find myself using that move too much. One of Sheik's best moves is a smash attack in the air with Sheik facing towards the enemy. The slap move is way useful against any opponent, like Fox's Up+A move (in the air).

Finishing with Jiggly isnt cowardly! In fact you should feel pround of yourself because Jiggly is one of the worst characters and event match 51 is the hardest mission so be pround!

Jigglypuff is the greatest character for Event 51. Her Down+B move does more damage to bigger enemies, and to Giga Bowser, it's an excellent attack to use to finish him off quickly.

Ganondorf and Mewtwo are a different story. They're lighter, faster, and harder than Giga Bowser. I'd just use items and use weapons like the Home Run Bat aor the Beam Sword.

you have to be near him, then press it, it will make him fly very far away.

The downside to Rest is that it isn't very effective against the light characters. And because of that, Jigglypuff is still a pretty bad character.

When my brother was playing an Event match (a trophy one) he kept using Jigglypuff's Rest and he eventually got killed by an enemy Marth. That is why I avoid using Jiggly.

I will tell you my strategy on how I beat #51

I jumped in the air and in the air, when I was right next to bowser, I used the sleep move, I did that over and ver till he died. The, I Kept running away from the 3 othere enimies(or two), and I get item, bombom, mine, all those, and I kept using them, then I destroyed them. Even match #51=COMPLETED

Really, you're basically a coward if you try to run from an opponent, running away from the fight, but all else is true. But, the thing is, that's off topic from this topic...

Anyways, one of my favorite things about SSBM is when two enemies clash against each other. I like that noise it makes when their attacks bounce off...

No, but I will try on the weekend. I hate roy's target test, that one is so annoying, took me a couple times to get a good record and get a strategy for it.

No, Paper Mario is for a distance in Home-Run contest.
Sheriff is for under (I think) 12 mins and 30 seconds in target test.

I'd laugh if they put Shigeru Miyamoto as a charcter in a SSB game.
I can see them making a 2D SSB. It practicly is 2D since you can only move <, > and ^.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is most certainly NOT a 2-D game; it is simply a 3-D game fixed to a single, side-view perspective.

Going back to the Home Run Derby, my high score is currently 1587 feet, achieved with Roy. I also received some 1356 feet with Ganandorf.

I've only managed to get about 2000ft or something with Yoshi.

Its 1476 ft. Yoshi's down A in the air works best. You have to jump low to do the maneuver perfectly.

Edit: For Yoshi's Island: Past Stage you need 1,350 ft.

I used Roy and it got me to 1600+ ft. My strategy is to torture the sandbag thingy until It's a suitable ammount of damage and then hit it with a fully charged B attack.

I use the A Smash + Up 3 times to weaken him to about 75%, then use a fully charged B attack as well, to get him to about 125%. That's ideal, but I usually only get about 1300 feet.

Nah, as I've said, I've been playing smash almost since its release and I still suck at it. I can just barely get by on three level 5 CPUs.

I also tend to be a big HRB n00b. (Da da da da, da daaaaaaaaa! CHARGE!) However, I normally end up resorting to other tactics.

I've been trying to teach myself a plethora of other characters. So far I've been playing with Samus, Zelda/Shiek, Roy, Falcon, and my newest-learned character, Link.
