When maple beta was out the only world was Tressia. When they realeased the new version they changed the name to Scania and when they opened the rego's in order to stop lag they created a new world Bera. So since we're all beta testers we're all on Scania since you cannot transfer over characters.

Hmm. I left Maple Island at lvl 10. Once you get to lvl 10 you can pick a job. If you're going to be warrior you should have started your character off with at least 4 LUCK and INT, one or both them can be 5 if you don't want to wait. Agatio, if your character doesn't meet this then it might be good to just restart him, it doesn't take long to lvl up at beginning lvls.

35 STR is needed to get to become a warrior. Warriors need a little dex and STR. Your lvl DEX should be twice your lvl, so if you're lvl 15 your dex lvl should be 30. Everything else goes to STR. Then after that all you need only to add into DEX twice then 3 in STR. =)

I doubt it. But, once you get the hang of Maple Story, its not so hard at the beggining if you restart, so you can make a new character in Scania, which is where I am.

I hate it when you spend 20 second hacking at a monster, and then some twit comes and does the finishing blow, thus earning more exp, and getting the item drop. Stalkers are also bloody annoying, I'd rather just train by myself until I'm a good enough level.

Yeah, KS, Kill Stealing. It's very annoying. If you do attack an enemy and do a good set amount of damage, and another guy steals the kill, you can still gain the items, not the exp.

Ususually you have to wait until the item drop has been on the ground fora while, or at least that is what I've found, maybe it's just a glitch for me though -.- .

Well, if you do the most amount of damage, 'nother guy kills it, you can pick it up, otherwise, if the dude did more damage and killed it, he can be the only one to take it for awhile. Least, that's how it works for me.

Beware; mages are by far the most popular kill stealers. And the item drop thing isn't a glitch; I just think it's there so that the person who killed the monster (or delivered more damage to it) gets grabs at the item before anyone else does, so you have to wait to get it. It's a rip off; I'll hack and slash at something, and then some warrior or mage will kill it and, with my luck, get a gold ore or an extremely rare weapon. -.-'

^ Agreed. Mages being the most popular class period doesn't make it any better.

Agatio, you've discovered the good and the bad of Maple. Every MMORPG has the system that MS uses: You deal over 50% of the damage to the monster, you get the most EXP and will be the only one to pick up the item for an amount of time. Every MMORPG has KSing too, but it's far worse in MS simply because MS is sidescreen. I won't bother to explain why, but it should be pretty obvious, I'm just having difficulty putting it into words. :)

Oi, I would restart that character if I was you. You should always get your job at lvl 10, or at least it's recomended. Come to Scania, I could perhaps help you lvl and give pointers. =)

WindDude's lvl 28 now. =DD (feels like I should be lvl 29 for some reason. >>;) I hope to be lvl 30 by Sunday at least. Can't wait till I can use Arrow Bomb in n00b clothes at the bottom of Henesys Hunting Ground. ^_^

I love going around Perion to train. I've actually circled the whole Victoria island twice without using a cab, and it's REALLY Fun, seeing all the places and such. But I still prefer Perion though. Second would be Eljinia, which as great Slimes and tress around. it gets you gold pretty fast. Between Henesys and Lith harbor is great too, with the dern pigs. ;) That's probably equal in fun as the shrroms aroung kerning city.

PROS:
-Great Equipment(Janitor's mop, ha! Frying Pan! Nice, lol)
-Great classes, Thief, Archer, mage, and Warrior, all with their own specialties.
-Addiction. I don't know if that's a good thing, but it sure as heck is fun.
-Great Gameplay, once you get used to it, it's hard to die.
-TRADING! It's fun to barter. ^_^

CONS:
-Slow Expirience grow(level ups are too slow).
-Enemies that are easy to moderately easy to defeat give crappy expirience.
-Some random flamer and kill stealer can put your Fame down a point jsut for kicks. gets annyoing if you ask me.
-This next con is from the player database, not the game it'self. Some players have bad habits. For instance, today, one girl kept calling meme "baby(actually, to be more precise, bey bey)" and kept trying to get a conversation outta me. And some dude got really wired. I was follwing a buddy, and she said "Foolow me" trying to lead me somewhere, and some random dude said to her "Hey, I like you. Wanna be my ms gf(maple story girlfriend)" She laughed and smiled, and the guy was serious.

A warning-If someone opens a trade and they want to put items in so they can 'price check' it and they tell you to 'tab''tab''space''enter' don't do it, it seals the trade so they get whatever.

Just reached level 12, and went straight to Perion to become a warrior (swordsman actually).

No noticable strenght difference, so I'll continue to train where I was before before getting enough mesos to get a nice helmet (just bough 3k worth of armour ^_^ ).

Sidenote, anyone know how to improve strike speed? My character seems very slow with the sword.

Nope you can't increase strike speed. All weapons have their own speed and can't be upgraded.

Lemme guess... You either got a pole arm or a spear. Well if you want a faster weapon buy Long Sword.

Haha, next time a person does that right click them and click Alert GM. Then click Harassment. That will report to the "GameMasters" that the character was harassing you or your friend. =X

Hey Agatio, I you can find me(Channel 1), I got a Wooden Sword that I don't need, you can take it, it's better than the long sword. And My advice, get armor ASAP, the Ax stumps will take alot, and you'll almost always miss for some reason.

Izar... What's your DEX? A warrior's dex should be twice as much as his level. So when you lvl up add 3 in STR and 2 in DEX. Never upgrade LUK or INT as warrior. You don't need them.

NEVER EVER EVER boost stats that your character doesn't need. Don't worry though, most newbies make this mistake. ^_^; I did myself.

The best thing for you and 'Gatio to do would be to restart your characters and come to Scania with the rest of us. Believe me, you'll be happy you did. A few stats out of place makes a big difference as to how your character performs. I understand if you don't want to though. =)

You need 25 DEX to start a theif. When Generating Character Stats, go for 4 STR and 4 INT. One of them being 5 is okay.

Bah, it's not messing up my character. I'm one of the strongest at around my level where I'm at(Bera). I'm staying in Bera until I get this character to like, level 25 or something, then I'll make another character on Scania. My character's attack goes along with my weapon's levels, sometimes a little more. For instance, If a helmet needs 50 strength, I got 50-60.

You should check the shops wich kind of weapons you like. There are daggers with speed 'faster', those need a little STR to equip. Other daggers are just plain 'fast' and need LUK only. LUK is your base for attack. DEX you also need for equiping items. Like the Field Dagger. You need 30 DEX for it and it's a lvl 15 weapon. Be sure to keep DEX a little more than your level. But mostly increase LUK.
My stats of my lvl 22 Thief DiddyKong are:
10 STR (11 because of the Red Pao)
50 DEX
5 INT
65 LUK.

Next level Im going to raise DEX.

Thieves are unimaginably uneventful until about lvl 20 or 25. If you want excitement, go for a warrior; quick lvling right until lvl 25 - maybe even further. ^_^

But for a thief, you'll want the double DEX and lots of LUK.

And if you intend to make a Bandit, you'll want STR to equip the more powerful daggers. But if you want to be an Assassin, you could just leave your STR at a low number; I'd say anything from 4-6, but hey, WD's the expert.

Warrirors... I think the best thing about warriors is their brutality. They got strength and defense... Great. I can stay in battle alot longer than mages, archers, or theifs of my same level, and sometimes higher.

Archers - Long Range - Enough said. They jsut own on the field with long range, in my opinion, better than the Mages.

Thieves are good, with the throwing shurikins or whatever. Haven't seen many though, so that's about it.

Mages have a variety of abilities that are pretty cool. That's about it, sense they have sorry HP. Their MP owns at low levels as well as high, so they never run out of KSing. ^_^

I implore all of you Bera users to make at least one character in Scania. It's more crowded, but that also means there are more people to interact with. Bera's so desolate, there's no one to buy stuff from; and I've noticed that there are barely any high-level people there; Sleepywood is like a ghost town!

Leave Max HP alone. It sucks and the description makes no sense. The only thing Max HP is good for is to get to Endurance. Lvl everything up to get to Endurance and put one in that, then focus on Power Strike.

You are warrior on Bera and when it's level 25 you make a new one? Well it's your choise but I wouldn't do that. I would choose something else like Bowman or something. I'm sure you will like Bowmen to.

I was showing Nobody Ossyria yesterday. We went to Orbis Tower and trained. I bought some Steel Titans since I once dropped my Bronze Igors on the ship and then it left... >.<;
Well we fought Jr Sentitels and we where going back. And Nobody dropped his lvl 22 warrior helmet on the ship and guess what... 1 second later the ship arived in Ellinia... Well I gave him a White Bandana since he's poor... Aren't I nice? :P

These funds are the used to buy stronger weapons and armour, and aid you in hacking and slashing at monsters. It was fun for a few days, but I soon got bored after realising there was nothing to look forward to.

I got 3 bamboo hats. All brown though <_< I guess your warrior so you don't need it since it raises LUK with 3.

Oh by the way: Battle Shield is a lvl 30 warrior shield. Im trying to sell it around perion for 110k. Does that sound fair?

I agree with you there, WD. Anywho, my summer vacation starts tomorrow at 11:55 am PCT. When it comes, I'm going to play Maple Story a lot, including other games.

Mages are too easy to do, Theives are just as good as Archers, but Archers got long Range, and Warriors are jsut plain neato.

I don't like Theives much, the only good thing Archers have going for them is range, Mages are pretty good, though Warriors are way better.

My order is like:

Thief
Archer

Warrior

Yeah I don't really like Warrior's. They got good attack stats and such but I miss the good things a bandit-thief has like high avoidability and quick attack speed.

Archer is a good class because of the range and if you maxed Cricital Shot and Arrow Blow you can do about 450 damage on just level 25. And bows are just cool!

Mages are in the beginning very weak and hard to use. But later they become unstopable killer machines (aslong as you raised him good and have maxed Max MP recovery and Max MP). I don't play with my mage much but when Bera has the 2x Mesos drop I'll play much more! <_<

Well on my Bera account Atarius I finally became an Archer and i'm Lvl 12! I only have the basic archer armour but it's good enoug for me. So three days of work paid off.

Well, if you listened to what the 1st Archer Job Instructor had to say about having a job you'd know why..

After you lvl up you gain 3 Skill Points you use on skills. Only AFTER obtaining a job do you get these points, so if you lvl up to 12 and then get a job, you missed out on 6 SP Points. 6 SP Points is alot, too. So that's why. You didn't though, so that's good. Chances are if you couldn't get your job at lvl 10 that probably means you were putting your stats at the wrong places. =P

Actually, I went there in the early lv20's via VIP cab and I barely had any probs. I am only lv24, but I still go back and forth from there constantly.

And heres another screenshot. Its more up-to-date than my last one. I took it while I was battling boars and various types of stumps in East Rocky Mountain.

Well, sure. For Warrior's yeah, but most other classes are better off in the mid/late 20's. But usually for warriors you're better off in Pig beach simply because you can kill them faster, therefore getting a smoother income of EXP.

FINALLY, the download worked overnight. Anyways, this game is cool, but fighting snails has gotten a tad boring, so as soon as I have 30 snail shells and 10 mushroom caps I'll move on to the real game...I think I'll be an archer.

That's untrue. Have you noticed what the Maple-Tip has every said?

"If you make the job advancement after the required level, you will be rewarded with additional skill points."

You need to buy them from the Cash Shop. I don't know when it's open. =/ I'm just waiting for it to open so I can get the EXP Card. Lvl 2 times faster. Otherwise, I'm not playing MS because it's such a waste of time.

Me and PDM got pretty far yesterday. I just tried again. Got killed by a steam thing that does 159 damage even if you use Dark Sight. I was at Another Path.

um sorry to say but, first off...pets arent out...and second you dont find the dolls those are for quests, u buy the dolls with REaL MONEY when it is released, and u only can have a dog, cat, or cargo pet. they only last 90days then u have to do a quest and also buy a potion with real money to get them again...so ya, pets are not out yet
