Well, I heard it from many people. And thief and mages find more stuff like ores and equipment than archer and warrior. Just because of thier high LUK. My level 25 thief in Scania find lots of stuff because of his LUK. And my mage now find lots of stuff to. My warrior and archer dont find anything at all. Yeah, but really LUK doesn't raise the rate of finding things.
It just raises your Accuracy and Avoidabillity.
So, you should be nice to people, they might fame you.
And Mages and Thiefs are only hunting for those shields because they don't have any better ones.

Is true, but many Mages and Thiefs have other characters with higher levels to. I had those friends on the Beta, MrLiu, he hunted for the Pan Lid with his Thief and he had a level 30 Archer...

Yeah that's not true at all. My hunter has 12 or 13 fame, and 4 LUK, and he found 2 pan lids, 2 zecos, 3 green matties, 3 blue pao bottoms, a purple avenger, and green hunter boots. And my thief has like 3 fame and 80 LUK and he found a pan lid too. I think it's just random/luck (and I mean REAL luck; not the stat).

I think im the only person that can level up in the green mushroom tree dungeon for 3 levels straight (about 18 hours) and get about 4 ores and thats it. No panlid.

I have kept fighting snails in Henesys until level 15. I have gotten so many items of equiptment, the striped shirt, yellow shirt for female, I also got amethyst earrings. And two Metal WAnds, double axe, 2 wooden swords, many sandals, brown duo, theif pants. My equiptment ssection is full!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I know what you mean. In the early levels I trained at Pig Beach and the Slime Tree and found so many Wooden Mallets, Metal Axes and Fork Spears that my equipment section was full to. :o

I've been there for days on end without a panlid. Besides, why the Fork'd you want a panlid? You're a warrior. Go get a Steel shield, or red triangular shield. :o

LUK and Fame don't increase chance of finding items. It's completely random. Although some people are luckier than others. My Hunter friend usually has a full inventory of level 40+ stuff from monster drops.

I made it to the sanctuary today. I was ripped. No Junior Balrog. I wasn't going to wait hours for one to spawn, either, so I just scrolled back to Sleepy after taking a screenshot or two. On the way there with Lawrence (He died along the way. -.-) we encountered a green snail with some drakes. It was so funny that I had to take a screenshot. I'll post it later.

It doesn't take that long to level up. I'm level 34 and from level 28 to 30 wasn't that long. What I'm saying is don't go talking abuot 70K exp being a lot when there are people here who have to get 300K+ to level up.

D: Lawrence I showed you it's possible to kill Stone Golems when we were hunting iron pigs and I started killing golems through the wall. :o It's fun.

Anyways, I'll give a piccy next level up when I'm wearing my shiney n00 Green Matty at level 35.

Well, karst, I know 2 monsters that drop tubes:
Blue Flower Tube (lv0 tube) is dropped by Blue slimes in the Kerning Subway.
Red Flower Tube (lv25 tube) is dropped by Zombie Mushrooms in the Dungeon's Ant Tunnel.
I don't know what drops the other tubes, though. And I find tubes rather useless :smile:

I know EXACTLY what you mean, I started my own Theif character aswell and this person was acting like a complete jerk. I just spontaniously drop arrows anywhere. Take up to much room. So if you see some arrows in the middle of Henesys or the like, you know Gippal is near.

And as an Archer... well, I'm not proud of it, but I'd KS some people just to get a cool spot, like the top lvl of Henesys Hunting Ground with all the Green Mushes.

Don't get me wrong, I'd never KS for the pleasure of it! (although driving off n00bs was sorta satisfying) It's just that it takes so long to find your own private spot to train, if I couldn't find a spot I'd just KS for it.

Anyway, I agree with what WD said. I don't like to KS people for fun, seeing as I know what it feels like, but if there was a good spot like the part of ant tunnel I near the southeast portal, I'd try KSing for it; it could be worth it.

Mages are VERY annoying KSers. Once, a mage KSed some dark ax stumps and looted me. And he used "I'm trying to get wooden tops" as an excuse. What would a mage need those for anyway :o ?
And in Ant Tunnel 4 once, I was training, then some mage comes, KSes/loots me, and calls me a n00b. What a Hypocrit! -_-

At least they aren't as much of a problem as they were when I used a warrior... (I use an archer right now)

Once, I used my bow's melee attack to knock a monster (to be exact, it was an ax stump) into a lv8 mage n00b KSing me, and she died. If your an archer, try using that trick to fend off mage KSers since they have low HP and DEF. :P

And I don't really try to KS others no matter what, though I still end up doing it once in a while.

it was getting tough for me to level up, cause I had distributed my stats the wrong way. I'm a warrior, and kept doing the 3str/2dex thing, but all you need is your dex to be 2x your level, the rest in strength. So i can't kill stronger monsters that give better exp :o . IF, and only IF i play again sometime, i'll juss keep killing pigs...as the other guy said "you'll get there"...which in this case should be "i'll get there".

I got smart and sold all that warrior gear for 250k, so i finished up my quest of buying all the lvl 30 stuff and spent 45k on that lvl 40 cap but its red. Its a great deal to buy and i planned on red.

Since the I's are in Uppercase and the L's are in lowercase you cant see the difference between the 2. People always call me ip and im like, ITS PHANTOM! I just did something so I would get the cool name :D

My theif is lvl 27 now and my warrior is still lvl 30. My warrior is now naked for I have sold all his gear and out it into my theif. My thief is over 200k now and I feel selling the gear was a good move. I think it will pay off since sin's make SO much since they find rare items pretty well. In my opinions Sins find better stuff than warriors being is how I have both and have found 2 types of bandanas (excluding the white one) and have sold them off for an amazing ammount of cash. :(

Staying a beginner sucks, no new abilities, and when you get to a new job, if you every do, you'll pretty much suck at it because your states are ballanced in everyway, which is isn't needed.

Plus, you can't get a job after level 10 so... n.n.

And, it doesn't really suck :D There's little things like taxi discount and not losing EXP when you die.

Oh well.

You CAN get a job after level 10, but it's pretty stupid/pointless because you'd lose skill points.

o.0 The only requirement you need for a thief is 25 DEX, once you've got that, leave it alone and work soley on LUK until you're 13, then just do the double DEX thing.

Thieves, primarily assassins-to-be, absolutely blow in the beginning; there's no avoiding it, but later on, once you advance, it's VERY worthwhile.

...I don't know jack about bandits except that if you want to be one, you may as well have some STR so you can use cutters AND daggers. *wishes he could at last HOLD the Cass*

For some reason, I got the minigame patch again... "patch v. 0.6".

But now it says my Data.wz file is corrupt, which makes no sense because I haven't tampered with any of that stuff... so now it wants me to re-download the MSSetup executive file. Instead of that, I just re-installed with my original MSSetup hoping it'd replace what was wrong with the Data.wz file.

Well, it didn't work, so I'm re-downloaded their precious "new" MSSetup file... has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah. I have played recently. I did get the patch. The same thing happened to me. I ctrl + alt + deleted the message, and then I ran Maple Story again. The patch came up and loaded.

Of course I've seen a GM. After I came third in Ola Ola one time, a GM said my name. :3

Also, one time when I was on the channel 1 boat to Orbis, a GM was actually on the ship a second time around after everyone, including myself, died of a Jr. Balrog inside the cabin. He got rid of the roggy. :D

Wind Dude, of course a summon bag was used. (They're called Summon bags, they were just rumored to be black sacks.)

Everyone was outside, and CBs came, so we all ran inside, and some guy summoned it. When they're first summoned it looks REALLY cool.

I still get very irritated by the cussing, even though the characters are mixed a bit, because people don't do it occasionally. They do it all the time. There is not one place I go that I don't see people cussing every second. I agree with Izar that rules aren't meant to be broken, because everything is normally so much better when people follow them.

They are making the cussin filter stronger I heard, and fixing some words, mainly because of Scania. But I do hear people cussing and such on Bera. Anyone from GSS cusses more than anyone else.

You can't say "watching" either.

But the reasons is because of slang is some other places and some VERY innapropriate conversations.

Yes, Wizet really needs to fix the cuss filter. They should let us say damn though, it's not such a bad word, and they shouldn't let us say ass.
