Assassins creed, and its fockin awesome. Sweet visuals; nothing beats sitting on a massive tower, overlooking the cities with the citizens all walking about, doing their own thing. Awesome story, though I wont spoil it. Very, very fun gameplay; chasing somebody down, jumping on their back and spearing them in the neck never, ever gets boring and just a very good game in general. Love it lots.

The battle system takes awhile to get use to it, but its makes the battles intense, even in the beginning. The story line isn't deep at first, but it looks like it will start to twist and turn any time now.

so did i at first, but as development went on it was clear that this was more than ff7 fappery. The battle system is fantastic (takes notes Kingdom Hearts team) and the storyline is compelling even if there is a fair amount of BS. Soundtrack is absolutely superb.

Eh, the combat is a nice twist on Final Fantasy's usual turn-based systems. Yet after a while I felt it was the same attack, dodge, Firaga, attack, hope a summon saves my ***, dodge over and over.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but I hope FFXIII has something better.

Absolutely loved the story, it made me want to keep playing to find out what happens next. I haven't played FFVII so I could appreciate it more than other people probably could, what with I didn't really know too much about the characters before hand. =)

The thing with RPGs these days is everybody either a) Hates them because they're too much like Final Fantasy or b ) Hates them because they're not enough like final fantasy. If you care about FF that much, go play it. I'm glad games like Eternal Sonata try something different from the FF formula.

ultimately, all games come down to repeating the same 4 or 5 actions over and over. It's all a question of how enjoyable it is, atleast Crisis Core keeps you alert.

GTA IV and Eternal Sonata.

GTA IV is hands down, the best xbox 360 game I have played so far. The reviews do not lie, it really is that good.

Eternal Sonata is a solid RPG, but i'm dissapointed by the lack of freedom at the moment. There's no overworld, so you can just skip between locations, you have to go allll the way back through the dungeons and towns you've been to.

Final Fantasy VIII

Been playing it for a while now, just completed it yesterday actually. It breaks a few conventions in the FF series and in RPGs as a whole (namely, the draw and junction systems), all for a unique play. Loved the storyline, I actually felt a personal connection with the characters (rather than FFVII, which early on just felt like characters were "added").

Overall, loved the game, one of my favourite RPGs and games ever.

I've not done any serious playing on it yet. It's mainly exploring right now. I've only gotten one achievement so far, and that was only worth 5 points. :P
I'm also going through MOH: Airborne. I was critical of it originally, but as time goes on I'm warming to it. The parachuting system is easy, but becomes pointless afterwhile. It just takes about 10 seconds from the start of a level. It also chooses to set objectives around the map that can be completed at any point. This is ok, but it seems a bit cruel of the character's American buddies to expect for him to do it all.

DS emulation has not been accomplished yet. Most commercial titles do not respond or lock up and freeze. It's still being worked on, and the same is true for PSP.

As I think I mentioned to someone earlier, DS emulation is still in its early stages. Very few games that work and most others still without any compatibility at all.

SuperCard is kind of a DS emulator. You have NDS. files that you can download off the internet, put onto a microSD card, which slots into the supercard, making them playable if you put the SuperCard into your DS. I got one in Thailand and I never looked back. Hundreds of awesome games for free.

I managed to find foreign versions of Nintendogs which work, although they run very slowly when there's a dog on screen. Polarium works too, but the music has a lot of static in it...

still on crisis core, sadly the more i play, the less i think of it

you've got to be seriously retarded to find the story missions even half challenging and the missions are just too ****ing hard, as in the unfair kind of hard, you dont get enough accessory slots and half the ones you do have are filled with ****ing status defence.

the game is so unbalanced its not even funny, a balanced character will get you through the story and the easy missions, but for the harder stuff you need an ultimate mage who dies from 1 physical attack or an ultimate fighter who dies from one spell.

the game stubbornly refusesto give me costly punch materia, despitwe giving me enough of the other ****ing punches to turn an octopus into a pro boxer. this seems to be the only way to do some of the missioins, i need one soon before my enthusiasm for the game drains completely

really doesnt help that guard doesnt overwrite any of the other commnds you've put in, so if you've selected to attack on a distant benemy and they casrt flare or something, you're dead. great fun >>:[

Laharl, do you have the Dash materia? It replaces the Triangle's guard with a sprint that uses AP. It's really useful for avoiding spells or slow but powerful attacks.

Also, for those really "hard" missions just do easier missions until your DMW Limit is at Sky High or Heavenly. Then get in and survive long enough until the monsties are bombarded with your memories/summons. XP

then you cant block spells like Flare or Ultima :/

that kinda eliminates the purpose of the game running around being completely dependent on the DMW

I'm almost done with MOH: Airborne, but the final mission is ridiculous. Not only is set in 'The Nazi Tower of DOOM' it's filled with these German supersoldiers who wear gasmasks and carry giant machine guns. I'm not the greatest historian in the world, but even I know these guys don't exist.

Bully Wii was...good I guess. The first 3 or 4 chapters where fun and for me different, but the Jock and end chapter just sucked. The story suffered for sure.
Playing BWii now, it's not bad. I like the Wifi modes.

The whole teaming up with the Nerds and Earnest to take down the Jocks sucked. The Nerds dialogue, behaviour and missions just didn't sit well. And then to actually take down the Jocks was way too easy and quick. "Go here, put glue there, piss in Gatorade here." And the final fight against Gary was way easier then the first boss fight against Russell.
The Preppie chapter was my favourite.

My opinion definitely changed after finishing it. I loved the start of the game, I thought I'd found another great game on the Wii, but overall I guess I have to say I'm not impressed.

I thought it was really fun overall and it's a game that I'd actually really like to see a sequel for, it'd be cool to see what R* could do to improve and change it. Bully really isn't the same game as GTA, and I like it for that.

I got Civilization Revolution today. It's an interesting take on the Civ formula. It's more humourous than previous titles, and sets itself out. It has some flaws though. The gameworld doesn't seem as big as previous installements, and it has less of a polished feeling that IV had. Overall I think I'll enjoy the game, but I don't think it'll be my favourite Civ game.

Got 2 games on the go at the moment; Oblivion and Lost Odyessey. I feel sorry for LO because Oblivion just eats time like nothing else. I've hardly had the chance to play LO and from what i've seen, it's an amazing game. I love the steampunk setting of it, but Oblivion is just so much more rewarding.

I can understand that. They took out the religious aspects that they put in for IV, and they also got rid of the workers unit, so things like farm building are no more.

Playing a leaked version of the SPORE Creature Creator trial... not many parts in it, so I can't really build anything that I've been imagining. Oh well. It's clearly a very nice piece of software though, can't wait for the full version.

It's dumbed down, but I think that's the idea. Most console owners don't have the patience to do all the micro-management of previous CIV games, so they've made the console version more accessible to these people. Yeah they're going to annoy their loyal fanbase, but they'll also bring in new fans for the next proper game.
I saw some screens for the DS version as well. From what I saw, it has an Advance Wars feel to it.

Beat MGS4. The ending... wow.

It feels a little short but the length is about average I guess. 15-20 hours long depending on how you like to play (no kills) and if you really want to snoop around to find all the secret stuff.

It seems kind of like they wanted to make it a bit more action-y, some places stealth seems entirely optional. Though Old Snake can only take a few hits before he dies, I always had plenty of healing items. It just doesn't seem right that Old Snake actually gets into more firefights than his younger self, though maybe this is just because the controls are much easier to use than the old MGS games, hence shooting is not a bad option? I don't know.

This is a game I'm going to play through a lot of times, though. I can tell you that.

You're still Solid Snake, but you're old. Physically you're the equivalent of about 80 years old maybe? I was just saying that it would seem that Solid Snake in the old games doesn't do as much fighting. Well, I can't say that for sure, because I've only played MGS3 (where you're Naked Snake, not Solid Snake) but in MGS3 I didn't do nearly as much shooting as I did in MGS4.

I've picked up FFXII again, simply because I realised that you can beat practically any boss just by casting Haste and Berserk on two of your characters, or three if there's a guest member.

Its because PAL runs at a lower frame rate then Americas, for some reason. I never understood that.
