I bought some parts off of ebay and newegg for a computer. My parents gave me $300 for my 16 birthday (which is the most money I've ever recieved for any birthday eve, even including gifts) so I could build a computer. Finally got around to getting the parts.

And the GPU is an 8600GT XXX edition. Got it for $65 off of ebay.

LGA775 Pentium 4 631. Runs at 3GHz stock, but it's supposed to be the best P4 Intel's ever produced. It's old, and not a dual core, but it'll work for now. I wanted to get a Pentium D 925 I saw on ebay for about $70, but I already had this one, and didn't have the cash for it anyway. The P4's brand new too.

Anyway, the RAM is two 1GB sticks of G.Skill I got on Newegg. High performance, and I got it for half off. :D

And I've got a Raidmax Smilodon case on it's way. I should've gotten it off of newegg, but I ended up going for the one on ebay. Didn't notice the free shipping 'till after I already bought the ebay one. D:

You should get an 8800GT as soon as you get the chance. Better than the 9600GT and pretty much everything else in the $100-$180 price range.

actually, the person that helped me pick parts high recommended the 9600 over the 8800. i dont recall his reason but he's a very avid gamer and i trust his judgment.

the ram was very fairly priced, and is meant for overclocking, which i dont even think my mobo can do (at least not well). im not worried about OCing though because my computer is already fast enough, so that'll just make the RAM even more solid.

The 8800GT still outperforms the 9600GT in most benchmarks from what I remember, but I'll have to double check. It's still a great card though. Definately better than my 8600GT. Looks better in a case than either one of them too. :) If you have an Intel board (like brand, not chipset), then you can only overclock with an application downloadable frim Intel's site. Even then, it only works with certain mobo's.

And I'm jealouse of your CPU. That's the one I would've chosen if I could have gone with my $500 build. But alas, I was lucky to get $300. =/ I need a job. XD

Well I wasn't even a promised a cake on my birthday. Infact, noting happened on my birthday at all. =/ I did go to Dairy Queen though, and I got a blizzard, but nothing special happened. It was actually the most boring birthday I've had yet, and it was my 16th none-the-less.

Well no because Halo is a shooter involving taking down aliens with guns whilst Hamtaro is about hamsters who aren't shooting things and have a completely different playing style. Using your logic, painting a house and shooting someone are the same because they involve a person doing something. There are actual similarities between those card games though.

Honestly, the real similarities end at "they're card games". Does every TCG ever have creature cards with attack and defense stats? Yes, because they ripped off the idea from Magic. The reason most TCGs epicphail is because they try to be as different from Magic as possible, but Magic has close-to-optimal TCG rules, so in most cases being as different from Magic as possible makes your game suck. The reason other TCGs have kiddy themes is because they know little kids will play anything if there's a TV show to sell it. Honestly, Magic is anything but "kiddy". There's a reason it's labelled 13+.

The wikipedia articles suggest they're pretty similar with monsters and magic and life points and all that funky jazz. There seems to be some differences in how you play the games, but I can't see many others.
