Absolutely love it! Like watch said, visually impressive (and the "rugged" feel of it is so unique). This should bring back memories, though I hope there will be a way to manually choose between world 1-1 and 1-2.

Interesting music selection too. Not Koji Kondo's best, but a welcome remix of the classic Mario theme nonetheless.

That's exactly it. It has a new "barren" look to it though, and I actually like it a lot - I think we have too many happy-go-lucky perky colored stages, and it's a nice change of pace.

It's got that rugged ancient look because it's a really old level. It was made up a long time ago, so it should look like it. That's the idea behind the look.

Personally, I like it. It's like the iceclimbers level, but sideways. Even though I hated that level, this one looks like it could work.

Gosh it sucks. In realizing how terrible this would be if it's true, I've kind of forgotten about Isaac... because if this is true so many other popular requests have been rejected too.. (Ridley, Geno, Krystal, etc.) and all for R.O.B, truly the most pathetic WTF character Sakurai could put in.

I just really hope it's not true. Otherwise I really might not buy this game. I might rent it and that's it. If he has really sunk so low as to make such horrible character decisions than I won't waste my money in supporting him anymore.

I'm serious, too. I had kind of let up on the whole "I won't buy Brawl if Isaac isn't playable.", but this... this I just can't take. It's so disappointing on so many levels. Not Sakurai quality at all.

@Golden Legacy, it is a very disappointing roster. So much that really it's so bad that I couldn't even invision it be that bad. (I mean I was thinking if Isaac wasn't in I'd still buy it, but not only does this not have Isaac, it does not have many other characters that deserve to be in and it sticks in WW Link, Wolf, and R.O.B. Wolf? Over Krystal? R.O.B over all of those other requested characters.)

I'm very much looking forward to Wind Waker Link (I think the official name will be "Young Link" though), he should be unique enough and look differently enough with the cel-shaded look that it'll be worth the inclusion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still disappointed if it is the roster - but I think we all have to realize that a lot of the "OMG I NEVER THOUGHT THIS CHARACTER WOULD BE IN, BOO YEAH!!!" has faded since most of the heavy-hitter characters have been revealed on the Dojo.

Laharl, you seem to miss why they would get characters. They're ulimate goal isn't to make money with this, while it is what they want to do / will get. This is one of the best games, the best game that will be released this year. Its not easy to create this kind of excitement. Capcom makes fighting games, and Smash Bros is a competitor to their franchises in that regard, Capcom would never EVER let Nintendo have their character for their fighting game.

Smash Bros is the COMPETITION. They DON'T WANT YOU TO BUY SMASH. They want you to buy MvC3 (haha... like that'll ever happen, just typing that makes me laugh. Haha. But anyway.) They are not pals, they are not friends, they are game companies. And first an foremost, money is important. Money they would lose, in theory, if Smash sells better than one of their games that may, or may not, have this character of their's in it. That's like Konami making a Splinter Cell game with Ubisoft and letting them use Snake as a character. Ain't going to happen, since they are competitors in the stealth-action genre.

Mushroomy Kingdom is really awesome. I love how it's like a direct remake of the structure of the original SMB stage (and the second stage as well.)

@ Skidz: Fox's level is pretty standard. However, the stage tilts from side to side as it maneuvers around the scenery in the background.

Snake was MADE by Nintendo, and the franchise Snake comes from is in no way a competitor to Brawl. Sonic is owned by SEGA, who is friends with Nintendo. Plus, I can't recall any Sonic fighting game (though there might be one, it's definately old), Sonic's franchise is also in no way competition.

Snake was made by Hideo Kojima of Konami, first of all, not Nintendo. But yeah, you are right, the francise isn't a Brawl competitor. Snake was included cuz Kojima wanted him to be in Brawl btw.

Um, I think Capcom has a similar relationship with Nintendo. I actually think Capcom has stronger ties with Nintendo, cuz I think Megaman roots is stronger with Nintendo than any other company.

And apart from Mavel vs Capcom, there isn't much competition with SSB, and I still haven't met anyone who bought MvC simply for Megaman. Who gave you that idea anyway? Most larger companies always work together to maximize their profit. There are numerous examples, but I'm not gonna list them all. Well, I don't know if Megaman could be considered the mascot for Capcom. As great as he is, I think Ryu from Street Fight is the true Capcom mascot. And givin the choice, I'd prefer Ryu over Megaman to be in Brawl. But Ryu won't be there cause you can't have Ryu without Ken. Plain and simple. Which is why Megaman should be in if Issac is not. I don't see how this can hurt thought - if you have the full versions of the game, then by all means, just skip right by them. But, not everyone does, and if it gives them the chance to try them out, why not? It's not affecting you in any way.

Famitsu confirmed the starting roster to be every single character on the Dojo, minus Sonic and Snake, as shown in the link above. I find this pretty cool actually, that we don't even have any "spoilers" for new characters now besides Sonic/Snake.

With a game as hyped as this, it's pretty much inevitable to see all of these fake leaks.

Both of your points are solid. I know, maybe it's just pessimism, and it is silly to make that assumption based on speculation. Still though, part of it is that if Isaac were in Brawl, it would definitely bring the GS franchise back into the scene and hence GS3 and such. It seems like an all or nothing situation almost, either Isaac's in and GS lives on, or Isaac isn't and the chances for GS to remain nothing but an a classic game on GBA is almost definite.

Isaac got a lot of votes in the polls Sakurai held. He's got a pretty good chance of getting in. He just doesn't seem like it.

Geno, I believe, is taken from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, a popular SNES RPG. It's noted for being both successful commercially as well as being the last Square/Nintendo collaborations for years.
