Well, he ususaly beats me because we very rarely play 1 on 1. We play Melees by adding two CPU's. Thanks for the help though, but I don't need any special tactic. I don't want to win every single time. It's funner the way it is.

i hope Marth or Roy are unlockable in Brawl, otherwise i'll be using Link and Pit the whole time, although Pit does look kinnda cool.

No that's Roy's Counter. Roy's Counter is more effective against stronger attacks, while Marth's always does the same damage. I'm not really found of the move, but it's sometimes good for a suprise. Not getting hit at all is atleast better than getting hit. :( Still Roy's COunter has a little too much lag I think...

Ganondorf is also considered as a Mid-Tier character, so he's a character you might see in High Tier tournaments. I very often play against my classmate who happens to be the best Ganon in the Netherlands (and best Y.Link in Europe too btw :P ). I can tell you from my own experience, Ganondorf can really be a beast! His aerials are CRAZY! I mostly have troubles with his Fair since it eats through DK's goddamn small shield. To be honest, I've never actually beaten him when he was using Ganondorf... That doesn't mean I can't bring him down to his last stock though!

Lately I've also been using Samus a lot and I'm having a great time. Samus is a real unique character, and almost everybody plays a different style with her (unlike those ****ing pilaring SHLing Falco's :P ). I think I'm now actually better with Samus than I am with Donkey Kong. It's only a shame that I'm not all too good with Bomb Jumping.

And about Fox... All you REALLY have to do is grab, up throw, up aerial and repeat. Up Smash is good, and if they get too close to the egde just Shine them and edgehog (hang on the cliff so that they can't climb up causing them to fall). Atleast, I think that would be the best to do for the most of you guys. :)

Don't get your hopes on Roy's returnal in Brawl though. He was only added in Melee to advertise the upcomming new FE title from that time; Fire Emblem 6 which never saw light outside Japan. Marth might return cause he's a retro character and Japan is crazy about him- plus he and Ike are the only Lords which appeared in 2 games (Ike's next title being FE10 for the Wii). So you can expect Ike to take Roy's place.

And ofcoarse if you absolutely CAN'T win you can just pick Peach and start Downsmashing away. :)

Ike would be a pretty cool character. Issiac and/or Felix would also be good addtions to the roster. i could sit here all day discusing who i think would be cool addtions to the next Smash Brothers game, but then everyone might hate me.

I've never seen someone SHLing, but I imagine it could be countered with Fox/Falco's shine thingy combined with a reasonably quick attack.

I'm pretty sure they will. In Melee, all the legendaries from Gold/Silver and Red/Blue appeared, so I see no reason for these ones not to. I'm interested in seeing Rayquaza. He should be cool to see.

i admit though, most of the time i turn the pokeballs off. i prefer the ba-bombs and motion sensor bombs the most, followed by the warp star, and star rod.

Possibly my favorite item is the Star Rod. Pretty good power AND can attack from a range or close-up. Though the PokeBall is fun too. Mr. Saturn is great when you're trying to make up some sports. I played Training once with my brother, and one of us would hold the Home-Run Bat while the other would fling Mr. Saturn, and the batter would try to hit him. There are all kinds of games you could make up with good ol' Mr. Saturn.

The bob-omb is the best item EVER. I got SO good chucking those things with Kirby and Roy, but because Fox falls faster, it makes it a bit harder. I miss the good 'ol days. :P

what is realy fun is,

turn item drop rate to max and have only one item selected,bob-bombs work out great for explosive insantiy, espealaly it open areas like Flat Zone or the DK stages. pokeballs are fun too, my friends and i had about fifteen or so pokemon on the screen at once, not counting the playable characters.

Yeah, I do that sometimes with my brother. Those Pokemon Battles are great. Usually one half of the arena belongs to me while the other belongs to him and then I would throw the PokeBalls into my brother's half.

something else that is fun is set the super mushroom as the only item and play giant melee. or set poison mushroom with tiny melee.giant works fun in the temple or onett, and tiny is fun in kongo jungle.

That's exactly what I used to do. They just don't appear enough otherwise. And on a side note, for TRUE explosive insanity, you'd have to double the max's output of Bob-ombs.

Toasty, as much as I wish this were not true, Sonic WILL be in the game. It's as good as confirmed. Sakurai and Shigeru have stated that he is the most wanted character for the game. Then Miyamoto said he would make an excellent adition. And finally, they said that they have spoken to Sega about it and have come to an agreement, not saying what the agreement was of course.

Also, as I said already, I believe that if Sonic wasn't included it would create a controversy like the cel-shaded graphics of The Wind Waker did, and the first-person perspective of Metroid Prime. And they don't want that on their hands.

The music is from the Melee main menu and character select screens, but in Brawl it'll be the music for the Battlefield stage. The site says so.

Wario, Diddy and King Dedede were some of the most requested for Melee, just after Peach and Bowser actually, so that means nothing.

@Eugine: I don't think Motoi Sakuraba works for Camelot anymore, since it doesn't say what company he is from in the list of Brawl composers, so there is no way that he would be able to pull any strings. I'm still hoping for Isaac in the game, even though some characters are more deserving to be added, like Diddy and Ridley.

Right. Lets work out how long it takes for the site to update get all of the old info on there and start with some new information.


So it's taken 1 day for 2 characters. There are 10 characters, including link and mario so thats 4 days if they add 2 per day. It's updated on all days apart from weekdays. Lets say that from today they add the characters, so on monday, they will have added all the characters.

Any items announced will be new, so that doesnt matter.

There are 9 stages we have seen, 1 has been on the site, and that was 1 in 1 days. So 8 days. If we say we put 4 of them with the 4 days it takes for the characters, thats an additional 4 days until they are all put on the site, taking us to next friday.

I'm not sure what will happen with the music, but anything else will be new.

Game modes will be new.





So it's next friday until we get some new information.

I agree with Diddy Kong, we need Diddy in brawl! I was also sad that he wasn't in melee. Imo the best thing ever would be to scrap the ice climbers and have Diddy and Dixie as the team char, with the option to swap between them (down B anyone? ;D) so you can change your attacks slightly. You could use her whirlwind ponytailness to recover, for example, or Diddy's infamous cartwheel attack.

Metroid is one of the larger Nintendo franchises, yet they only have one character from Metroid in Smash. Would you rather have Dark samus as a clone, or one of the hunters, leaving the others? Ridley is the only logical choice for Brawl as a metroid character.

Ridley is the classic villian from the Metroid franchise, and is the far most likely to represent the Metroid villians since he's the oldest, most populair and most well known from all Metroid characters besides Samus.

Also, I bet Sakurai will find him much more intressting than the hunters or Dark Samus since he'd work far differently than all other characters, unlike the hunters and Dark Samus who could both end up being a clone from Samus with unique traiths and moves aka Luigified.

Caael please note that Sakurai will not update the character selection daily. Instead, I bet he'll do something with the stages tomorrow and leaves the characters for next week. This may perhaps result that we're seeing even classic characters as Donkey Kong and Yoshi over 3 weeks or so. Which is only logical, since the game doesn't even has a release date yet.

I really need to go back to looking at the Other Games forum every once in a while, I completely missed this site update. It's good to see the GS composer on board for this game, hopefully it indicates that at least a stage will be devoted to the series.

And yes, the daily updates do suck right now. But since they're going through the list of characters, maybe something will be revealed once they get the "knowns" out of the way.

But anyway, to answer escout's question, when one is hit with "Lip's Stick" (eww....D:), a flower is placed on that persons head. The flower slowly does damage to anyone wearing one, and it can be devastating in a stamina battle. Successive blows with Lip's Sitck (GAWD this is getting dirty. XD) makes the flower bigger, and thus the flower will do more damage. I for one, hope that it isn't in Brawl.

The only weapons I really care about, are the beam sword, Homerun Bat, Bob-ombs, super scope, Star Wand, and mabey a few others, mainly because (if only at one point in time) I was/am REALLY good with those weapons (mainly the Bob-ombs). As for the rest, I don't care.

one thing you can do as Samus in Melee, is if you time it right, you can use her grab move to latch onto a nerby platform, works great as a recovery. She's the only one you can do this with though, and it takes practice. I hope it will still be in Brawl.

Slightly. I would rather have Isaac or Felix, Wolf should be a beefed up version of fox with Luigi-fied moves. Luigi should have more unique moves like the hoover, and I quite want Cel link in the game, as he would have different moves entirely. Marth and Ike should both be in because they are both awesome : D Doesn't mean I will use them.

I would't mind if Ridley and DS were included, because that would mean that the better villain ( Ridley) is in, and not kicked out by a near clone. If there was 1 metroid Villain slot, it would be Ridleys.

But Metroid is a big enough series to have 3 or 4 character slots, Like Zelda and Mario do.

Exactly why they would design him like Ridley from the nes Metroid. Imagine Mewtwo but purple with stubby yellow wings and his B attack is to shoot out comical fireballs. The A attacks would probably be an array of tail swipes, and probably some mouth lasers like in Metrid prime? Possibly a ground pound like in Metorid Prime and/or a stabbing tail move like in the 2D metroids.

It would work, but it kinda cheapens him.
