The game plays differen't. It's a little slower paced with more emphasis on arial attacks. Plus, there's online, stage building/sharing, more characters, a decent adventure mode (for once).
But it's not just SSBM with some gimmicks, it's an entirely new game. Though I can see where you're comming from. And my examples aren't the best either.

I agree, really, the only reason I'm getting it "sometime this week" is mostly for social life's sake; I actually have a Wii unlike most of my friends, and I need my two best friends to have an incentive to hang with me since they're dating and are pretty much connected at the hip, and are SSB fans. e_e

More like someone will run by and grab it. It's not like the plugs are cemented in you know.
I couldn't find any of our portable DVD players, and I couldn't get a 12 volt battery.
However, I won my first match as Meta Knight (it was randomly selected). But using the Wii controls is HARD. Especially with Meta Knight. After the tournament finished, I just did a round of brawl with this one guy, and I used Ike the first time, and Fox the second. Both were far easier to control, but I had gotten 3 matches in by the time I used Fox.
I might try the Wii controller as I'll get used to it eventually, but the GC controller will be a LOT easier to use.
By the way, Ike truely is a freaking tank. He's a little on the slow side, but not much, and his attacks are POWERFUL. Every one of them has good knockback, and you can KO someone ith a smash after just 4 solid standard attacks. Plus, his side B has a LOT of knockback, especially when fully charged. Same goes for the standard B. He'll definately be one of my mains.
Fox is just as good as he was in Melee. Quick, and has some decent moves. I think his up smash was slightly weakended though. But not by much.
So far, Ike and Fox wil be my two main characters.
And pretty much everyone in the tourney who won a match, up until the third set of matches, used diddy. Yoshi and Diddy have probably the two best FS's out of the starters. Meta Knight's doesn't have enough knockback, and only does 30% or something. Link's is a bit better, but you'd have to have your opponent at at least 40% for the FS to KO in either case. Diddy and Yoshi's, on the other hand, usually KO the opponent after 3 or 4 hits. Plus, they both last for a good while.
and the spicey curry dish thingy lasts a LONG TIME. And it's powerful too.
The normal hammer got nerfed, and the super hammer thing bascially replaces it in terms of power. Though you can float with the super hammer, and it moves twice as fast.
Out of all the items, excluding the FS ball, the curry platter thing, the starman, and the super hammer dominate. Curry platter is overpowered IMO.
So yeah, I lost my second match BARELY against Wario. He KO'd me pretty quickly, and then I was about to go in and use Meta Knight's up smash (wich by the way won't KO until you get you opponent to 120+ damage, usually a little higher), and then I got a poison mushroom, so I couldn't really do anything. But I barely won my first match since the controls were so unfamiliar. Seriously, if you've never played Melee, or a Wii for that matter, don't use the Wiimote+Nunchuck.

Ike seriously isn't as slow as so many people say he is. Even his smash attacks are faster than a third of DeDeDe's attacks (Exaggeration, I suppose. >.> But seriously, DeDeDe's FSmash is too slow for me). I've defeated two Marth players, both while using Ike, and Ike actually doesn't have too much trouble keeping up.

Not yet.
I've played the Japanese version at a friends place. He went to a Melee tournament in France, and because he got screwed with the pool placements (his Ganon vs only laser spamming Falco's, ouch) he stole the guy's modded Wii with the Japanese Brawl in it.
I've imported the NSTC version of Brawl, but it's yet to get delivered. I've also ordered a Freeloader which will hopefully allow me to play the game, otherwise I'll have to get my Wii modded aswell.

Well, every one of Wolf's A moves are different. I don't really want to elaborate on every single one, but they're completely different. (: His Up + B is pretty different: it's an upwards kick that propels him in your desired direction while Fox and Falco's Up + B is a charging fire attack. They're not really the same.

It looks like the general consensus on the SSE was that it was OK. Some people liked it, some hated it, some said it was all right. I thought it was well done (Especially the cutscenes), but it did lack in some aspects.
