I can't get used to lag, I really can't. D: My timing and focus get completely thrown off, which is especially dire when you're using someone like Ike. If I can get rid of that button lag, then we can play. I've been fighting several matches with button lag already and they don't turn out too well.

I'll admit, the guy's pretty witty and his responses to the letters he received were gold, no doubt. Still, I don't see why you hold him in higher regard than other reviewers - he's a critic himself, a unique take on games and interesting reviews, but still a critic.

It seems more like he and you share the same "harshly criticize when games don't meet your ungodly high expectations". Just because you can point out a game's flaws, doesn't mean that you should focus on them and basically sum up the game's worth to those flaws, and disregard everything else about it.

However, that's really far out into the future, and that's not even including the to-be-announced Australian release. I'm honestly considering just having the first tournament sometime in late May/June - just a "practice" one at least, to generate some more interest and see how it would work out, for the NA gamers.
That way, when more people are available to compete once the European/Australian releases have occurred, it would run smoother and have some experience behind it.

I've noticed that from you, though this is the first time I've actually heard you say it that way. Disregarding the language you used (must you always be so harsh?), I'm just simply stating that you seem to linger on the flaws too much. Obviously, it's important to know about them, but summing up the game's worth and value to just the flaws seems to undermine all the other hard effort and work put into the game by the development team. You, especially, should at least see that, seeing as you have an appreciation for games that I've rarely seen in people.

depends on the what's flawed, it's fundamentals like Combat and Camera then i'll be a lot less likely to invest in a particular title. Anyway, like I've said before, Melee's battle mechanics seem more refined and smooth when compared to Brawl's. When I attack in brawl, it feels like the character is wearing baggy pants of something, for lack of a better metaphor.

I haven't touched SSBB in months, and even the thought of playing it with friends just doesn't seem like enough to get me to play it again. It just seemed like more of the same, I suppose. I made at least a dozen stages, though. Only one or two of them were half-assed.
Melee seems more refined than Brawl too. I don't like how the characters in Brawl start spasing out as you charge up a smash, or any of the extra sound effects that are thrown in. I agree with Laharl in that it seems to cluttered.
Not even close to be worth buying a Wii over, but I suppose if you like fighters and have never played Melee, this is well worth the money.

I'd much rather play a SSB game than a traditional fighter. Believe me. I just got bored of Brawl pretty quickly. Seems to happen to me with most games nowadays.

o3o; Gosh...I didn't know I had such an effect on you guys? Lol, Blue. Did you know there's some guild on gaia composed of only 35 ~ 40 Gaia Smashers called the Elites (the name is going to be changed)? One for each character, and the others are random. (Meaning they have a variety) O,O They're really scary (the random ones).

you'll have to point out the parts where he criticises the controls, and the final smashes, and the character unbalance, and the stages because i cant seem to find them.
If you could go fuck yourself whilst you're doing that, it'd be great :o
Bad controls - 1:18 to 1:25
Camera, Attacks - 1:25 to about 1:32
I saw that review enough times to notice the similarity to you and Yahztee. As did Nos.

hardly a comment on unresponsive controls.
newsflash Captain Literate, i made no denial that Yahtzee comments on the camera and special attacks.
seriously learn to ****ing read before trying to pull a Split
just because i share some his views, it doesnt make my opinion a carbon copy

I still wish Sheik's aerial game didn't get nerfed as much as it was. Seriously, her only aerial with any somewhat decent power is her BAir.

Please Laharl, I don't ever need to 'try to pull a Split'
I knew that my post would be met like this, but it was just too good. Next time front up when someone picks you up on something.
By the way, you do know I don't actually have anything on you, your posts against Nos just reminded me so much of someone.
Still can't get on Wi-fi and SSBB is in PAL regions now. Ideas?

No no, that happens to me a lot too. It goes to show how much Nintendo's server infrastructure sucks. It doesn't have the horsepower to support all the requests for random matches, so it can take a while

When Iwata first mentioned a Smash Bros. game for the "Revolution" (now called Wii) at E3 2005, there was no such game yet. No team, nothing. Sakurai didn't even know that Nintendo was thinking about a new Smash game, that was the first time he had heard about it.
Iwata approached him later that day and asked if he would be willing to resume his role as director. Sakurai agreed, and a studio/team was put together.
Game concept and development began October 2005.

oh i know, by sitting on your arse all day and then remembering you have to make a game with 10 months left

There's a lot of planning that goes into it, a lot of analysis that plots out the progress of the game's development. The conceptual stage where ideas are being refined and carried out to see if they're viable. For a game as massive as Brawl, it's a huge process to go through, much less actually beginning the programming and debugging.

Simply put, the Brawl development was a shambles

Sounds like terrible organisation to me. Announcing a new game without even asking the guy you want to make it is poor.
