ROB's FS is actually pretty good if you know how to use it. The beam may be close range, but if you know how to shoot out that "death ray" laser thingy, it does quite a bit of damage.

I watched a crapload of matches streamed live over the internet, and ROB doesn't look half bad. Plus, like gsn said, his recovery is absurd. You're going to hear a lot of people saying that using him is cheating, just like they did in Melee or SSB when people used Kirby.

Overall though, Marth, Ike, Diddy, and Lucario looked to be very solid fighters, and now that Lucario isn't floating like Mewtwo was, he won't be knocked off as easily. At least I don't think he will.

Yeah, it's weird. Not all employees know everything. One of my friends went to my GameStop two days ago and asked one of the employees about the midnight release; he said that she said there wasn't one. o.o I guess the only people at GameStops who for sure know everything would be the managers.

Anyways, I just came back from playing Melee. I'm deifnitely getting a little better, since I can beat a Lv. 9 computer 90% of the time in 1v1 4-stock battles. Tomorrow I'm going to move up to fighting two Lv. 9s at once.

So I started trying to fight two Lv. 9s at once again (4-stock matches) and I chose Roy and Bowser to be my opponents. Two lower tier characters should be good to start off; characters like Fox would be too hard to handle in 2-on-1 matches for me as it is. XD Anyways, I played three matches and lost them all, but I got progressively better. First match was a disaster; I lost all my stocks while both had three left. Second match, I brought them both down to two each. Third match, I brought them down to one stock each with damage ranging from 25-28%.

Oh well, I'll get better once I practice more.

The two biggest reasons are probably that Lucario's a representative of the most recent generation and that he has a really big fanbase in Japan.

I am honestly saddened how Camelot didn't get the publicity this time around. Isaac would've been one of the finest additions to Brawl. Heck, even his moveset could easily be made up along with a Final Smash. Still, I like the thought of finally controlling Charizard now.

Apparently, Link's Up + B has virtually no knockback unless you charge it up completely. It's what I've heard from people who've playe as Link.

Sadly, Sheik's Down grab and Forward aerial got nerfed too. However, her Forward smash got buffed and everything else is pretty much the same.

Practicing in lightning melee will help a LOT.

That's because Fox is WAY faster.

In Melee, a faster character will have the upper hand because they'll not only be able to land more hits, but dodge more as well. A stronger, slower opponent won't even be able to land a hit on a Smashtard who's using Fox.

I KO'd Mario at 128%. How ironic.

Lightning melee is faster, and thus promotes faster reflexes. If you can own in lightning melee, then standard melee will be a cinch.

I'm going through and trying to beat every character at least once (twice if they're giving me trouble) at lvl 7 in lightning melee. Then I'll bump it up to 8, then nine, then two lvl 7's, then two lvl 8's and so on.

keep in mind that level is more than just difficulty. I think each level also fight drasticly differntly, meaning that level nine may not be the hardest. unless your talking about the computer having a handycap set to those levels.

Level 9 is the hardest. They move faster, they dodge more, they block more projectiles, and occasionally they'll even catch some. Level 7, in contrast, is a little bit slower (not much) is easier to hit (again, only by a bit), and blocks fewer attacks/projectiles.

The fighting style is still pretty much the same. They just move faster/dodge more/block more with every increasing level.

My best friend told me that he planned on having the game completely beat in three days. I told him that he was crazy and that there was way to much stuff in brawl for him to beat it that quickly.

It took me about six months of play to unlock all the characters in melee, but I was mostly playing oin my own. And it takes a while to play the 1000 matches to unlock, I think it was Mewto.

Event 51 in Melee? Yeah, it was insane. I actually had to cheat and beat it the first time (by using Kirby and floating around on top of the stage, while relying on bombs below to damage Giga Boswer, Ganondorf, and Mewtwo), and also grabbing onto the edge of the stage, falling off, and floating back up so that the characters would sometimes KO themselves. Took nearly 12 minutes of going back and forth to do so).

Although, I did get good enough with Falco to beat it properly, and nearly with Marth.

Use Yoshi and just jump above one of the hands and use Yoshi's flutter kick over and over again. that us how I beat event match 50 the first time.

Like PDM I used Captain Falcon. His ^ smash kick thing does crazy damage if you power it up, and he is very fast, and can dodge most of their moves if you time it really well.

Mewtwo, besides maybe Jigglypuff, was the easiest to unlock. Just leave a no timed match on all night and boom, Mewtwo.

Event 51 was a major pain. I punched a hole in my wall when I had beaten Giga Bowser, and Mewtwo, and Ganondorf was down to 1 stock, but then he killed me.

I got to play Brawl today, someone brought it to school on a modded Wii.

Gotta say, the game is different. It's not Melee, the battles are all really verticle (even on old stages) and I can see why every other character can multijump or glide now. It's interesting, and it makes more use of the screen space. I'm not used to it yet, but I'm eager to play more. It's like Melee with a major upgrade atm.

Then again, we played with Cube controllers. xD

No, it's not a Melee 2.0. But it feels like Melee 2.0. You KNOW right off the bat it isn't, but playing with a GCN controller, trust me, it feels like it.

I'll probably try all of the controllers (GC last), but I'll probably end uup using the GC controller. The classic controller doesn't look like it would fit into a person's hands as well as the GC controller, the nunchuck just doesn't seem like a good fit for a game like Brawl, and it would be confusing to use just the Wiimote at first. Even after you got the button combos down, it wouldn't be as quick as the button layout of either the Classic's or the GC's.

I'll have to try them all to tell for sure though.

Well Isaac isn't a character but he is an assist trophy, but of course everyone already knew that.

At any rate, IGN's review of Brawl comes out tomorrow. Say what you will about the editors, I happen to like Matt Casamassina's reviews and look forward to it - I do expect a lower scare than what Famitsu, Edge, and Nintendo Power gave (they all awarded Brawl perfect 10/10's), but only have to wait a short while to find out.

Probably not a good comparrison, but in the WWE games, they have the outfits and moves of wrestlers that don't wrestle for the WWE so you can create them, so maybe in Brawl they will have parts that resemble peices of stages not in the game.

I said no, and she asked me if I wanted to which I basically replied "Nah." She seemed a little surprised and told me (in a nutshell) about how so many people were reserving now and that Brawl would be hard to find for a month and that Brawl wouldn't disappoint me... she was basically insisting that I reserve. XD It costed $5 to reserve, and I had gave her $60 to buy Bully (to account for tax) so I said, screw it, I might as well. :P

For anyone who want's an SD card. 1GB and probably the cheapest you'll find at that capacity. Normally SD cards (I usually buy SanDisk cards, but Kingston's are about the same) run 12-20 USD.

And no, you don't need a Wii SD card. It'll work fine just as long as it's 2GB or less (no High Capacity support D;). That 1GB stick will give you about 18 - 20 thousand blocks of memory, which is MORE than plenty.

I just don't understand why people actually expected downloadable content. I can understand if they slightly expected it, but not whole-heartedly. I just saw a topic on GFAQs in which the OP complained that the lack of DLC will be one of the reasons why Brawl's appeal won't last as long as Melee's. XD

Well in my defense, I didn't actually hate SMG. I got the Wii because I had never owned a Nintendo console before, and wanted to play games I had missed through the VC and GameCube games.

I do want Brawl, I just... don't see the immense hype.
