Best selling Black Metal band of all time, and for good reason, they rock. Dani has an amazing range of vocals. He can go from a girly scream, to a deep, growling voice, in a split second. I have Paul Allendar's custom PGR(PRG?) guitar. It's purpleish black/or blakish purple, whatever way you want to put it, and the frets, insted of dots, are bats.
10/10.(And I don't give that score alot)

Something always brings me back to you.
It never takes too long.
No matter what I say or do I'll still feel you here
'til the moment I'm gone.
You hold me without touch.
You keep me without chains.
I never wanted anything so much
than to drown in your love
and not feel your reign.

I don't see this song as particularly depressing, and I also have heard whinier. But this is definitely SES' best song, especially with the deep, dramatic riff at the beginning and end of the song. The first two lines are incredilbe for setting the mood as well.
Silhouettes above the cradle hold me down
They won't let me go the wrong way
It seems like less of a song to induce depression and more of a song to promote faith in something.

While every metal band has a slowed down song, every metal band always has a power balled, or in dumby terms, a really, really, long song, that is ussually also slower, and more, emotional, if you would liek to call it that. This is one of a few of HIM's power ballads. They are an amazing band, and I wish American listiners weren't so anal about the music they lsiten to, and actually recgonized them. 10/10.
HIM=WIN.

The ONLY album CoF has even remotly sold out on is their newest album. Listen to any song on Damnation And A Day and you can tell that it is true black metal. Now the bands you listed are good, I perfer CoF.
