Been in a country kinda mood lately.
I'm not sure If I like this song more for the lyrics, the tune, or the fact that Keith anderson is singing it. <3
Baby whatcha say we go pickin' wildflowers?
Got a spot way back in the woods.
Sneak away for a couple of hours,
You and me baby, pickin' wildflowers.

it's a song he wrote after his wife gave birth. it's such a beautiful song <3
i was fine
i pulled my self together
just in time
to throw my self away
once my perfect world was gone I knew
you ruined everything in the nicest way
you should know,
how great things were before you
even so,
they're better still today
now I can't think who I was before
you ruined everything in the nicest way
bumps in the road remind us
the worst of the best behind us
only good things will find us, me and you
days will be clear and sunny
we're gonna need more money
baby you know it's funny
all those stories coming
true
despite my better efforts
it's all for you
the worst kind of cliché
i'll be with you till the day you leave
you ruined everything in the nicest way

I find it highly ironic that Pandora is playing THIS song when I'm feeling really nostalgic about this place.
"Nobody said it was easy,
It's such a shame for us to part.
Nobody said it was easy,
No one ever said it would be this hard.
Oh take me back to the start.
I was just guessin' at numbers and figures,
Pulling the puzzles apart.
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart.
And tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start.
Runnin' in circles, Chasin' tails
Comin' back as we are"
God damnit. 10/10

common's a deep rapper; i don't get how you can hate an entire genre when all you think it is is guns, drugs, and disparaging women. that'd be like somebody hating all metal because all they've heard is Anal ****.
The chosen one from the land of the frozen sun
When drunk nights get remembered more than sober ones
Walk like warriors, we were never told to run
Explored the world to return to where my soul begun
Never looking back or too far in front of me

Not trying to hate, because it's great you like some rap, but..
Right here shadow
10 o'clock direction
Seize the moment
They destroy the nation
Your rhyme is slow-motion
Give me motivation
Freaked out now
And dead on arrival
.. is not "literate rap".
Might say something that's outlandish
But when I do I'm thinking without standards
I apologize, take it as a letter
In spite of my actions just know I was raised better
I'm aware my opinion's hated
So why the FUCK am I so opinionated
or..
Ask the teenagers, O’Gs and Ask the kids
What they definition of Classic is
Timeless, cause age don’t count in the booth
And your flow stays submerged in the fountain of youth
..is.
I don't doubt it's an enjoyable listen, and I've actually grown a bit on the backing music, but Lotus Juice are far from a lyrical or "literate" rap group.

When we go up to bed your just no good,
its such a shame!
I look into your eyes,
I want to get to know you,
And then you make this noise,

This song reminds me of this place, ironically. But lyrically speaking, the whole song is chock full of metaphors and imagery, enough so we had to analyze it in my senior English class. Yet doing so gave me an even greater appreciation for the true artistry of the words and soul of this song, and I can never get tired of the guitar solo at the end :P

Where Are You Now? - The Summerset
I actually saw these guys in concert before I listened to their music, and that's what got me listening. And this song...well, it has special sentimental meaning to me <3. Yes, they are an intensely sappy pop-rock boy band, and I'm not one to listen to those kinds of bands, but I guess this is an exception.

The singer of Red really does sound like the lead singer in Duran Duran. And I'm too lazy to look up who that is. I really hate the sound of synthesized music...y'know, that 80's music sound, so perhaps that's why I like this version better...more metalic-y

Beautiful Lie- 30 Seconds to Mars
This song shakes me. Kinda makes me think about what I'm doing with my life and what I really believe in. Also, never fails to depress me a bit when I hear it, but no other song I've listened to has been able to do that just by sound alone.
It's time to forget about the past
To wash away what happened last
Hide behind an empty face
Don't ask too much, just say
'Cause this is just a game
I started to become a 30STM fangirl, but as I've been listening to their songs, its just a lot of repeated verses. So meh.

Blessed by a bitch from a bastard's seed
Pleasure to meet you but prepare to bleed
Rise, I'll rise, I'll rise
Skinned her alive, ripped her apart
Scattered her ashes, buried her heart
Rise up above it, high up above and see
Pray to your god, open your heart
Whatever you do, don't be afraid of the dark
Cover your eyes, the devil inside

Maaan, fuck you toasty for saying rap is shitty and has no lyrical content.
Shout to all my fans, glad i could insire yall
Got a couple haters, still tryin to acquire more
I aint gotta be abrupt
I tell em like i tell my girl, you doing a great job, now keep it up
And i promise ill take you higher then you ever seen
40mg flow, chased by promethazine
Lacking competitors, yappin about etc
Cant tell if im listen to rappers or treasurers
Im a poet, I feel like i owe it not to go astray
So everythin is Genuine, no Sole
Gotta blame it on my upbringing
It goes back to when tyrese was on the bus singing
I respond so mature, so unlike Joe
Whhat they write though is all wrong, just a typo
I just learned to be alone without an iso
All a nigga gotta do is take the high road
Two words for my enemies, die slow
Full time pyro, could do this with my eyes closed

Of course it can. The only problem is that there's a lot of rap that's just constant swearing put to a half decent beat. The majority of rap songs that are considered "famous" only obtained that status because they had sick beats and the sound of the vocals was good. I honestly can't think of a rap song that got famous by it's lyrical content alone. I could be wrong though, since I'm not an expert or anything.
tl;dr Rap is art, but a lot of rappers make it crappers.

Lose Yourself by Eminem and a bunch of his other songs are good examples, but for the most part, you're right. The majority of lyrically great raps only become popular if they're sandwiched between the second and third choruses of a pop song.

I love the beat and Jared Leto's voice when he rasps parts of the song gives me a mind-gasm. The song as a whole so upbeat yet vicious and powerful. Both the remix and the original are equally good though.
Blessed by a bitch from a bastard's seed
Pleasure to meet you but prepare to bleed
Rise, I'll rise, I'll rise
Skinned her alive, ripped her apart
Scattered her ashes, buried her heart
Rise up above it, high up above and see
Pray to your god, open your heart
Whatever you do, don't be afraid of the dark
Cover your eyes, the devil's inside
One night of the hunter
One day I will get revenge
One night to remember
One day it'll all just end
Not only that, but I started listening to it right before the break-up. Oh foreshadowing.

i'd never really heard of B.o.B till Em mentioned him a year ago, and didn't check anything out until Airplanes, but he's pretty ill. definitely buying Secret Adventures Of Bobby Ray when it drops.
edit - aha, wow, this guy who pretends he has inside info, and pretended he had relapse, and has been proven phoney multiple times leaked Airplanes 2 without Em's verse. people have had the album for a minute now, and if his dumb ass has the song, then someone else will that has the balls to leak the full version. im upping to rapidshare atm, gimme a sec.

Lets pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen,
Lets pretend things would have been no diff-er-ent,
Pretend he procrastinated had no motivation,
Pretend he just made excuses that were so paper thin.
Make it blow away with the wind, Marshall you’re NEVER gonna make it

Slept through his plane and he missed it

Let’s Pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen
Let’s pretend things would’ve been no different
Pretend he procrastinated had no motivation
Pretend he just made excuses that was so paper thin they could blow away wit the wind
Marshal you never gone make it, makes no sense to play the game it ain’t no way that’ll you win
Pretend he just stand out side all day and play with his friends
Pretend he even had a friend to say was his friend
And it wasn’t time to move in school no changing again
He wasn’t socially awakard and just strange as a kid
He had a father and his mother wasn’t crazy as shit
And he never dreamed he can ripped stadiums he just lazy as shit
Fuck a talent show in the gymnasium bitch
You won’t amount to shit quit day dreaming kid
You need to get ya cranium check you thinking like an alien
It just ain’t realistic
Now pretend they ain’t just make him angry with this shit
And there was no one he could even aim when he’s pissed with
And his alarm went off to wake him but he did’nt make it to the rap Olympics
Slepth through his plane and he missed it
He’s gonna have a hard time explaining to Hailey and Laney these food stamps and this WIC shit
Cause he never risked shit he hoped and he wished it
But it didn’t fall in his lap so he ain’t even hear it he pretends that

listened to this song obsessively about 3-4 years ago. I love the violin bits, especially the solo towards the end. Voice is a bit sub-par, but lyrics are general to many break-up/separations without being too cliche.

Girl Anachronism is amazing because the tone (off key and varying) perfectly fits the lyrics and subject of the song.

Recently downloaded all of their albums (Legally, OF COURSE >> *cough*) and really actually couldn't find too many that I liked, aside from their mainstream songs and this one. Definitely lyrically appealing, and thank GOD the vocals change key every once in a while. If you took the vocals from so many of their other songs, and played them solo, it would sound so fucking monotone.

Apparently the summer hit this year in Ibiza, Salou, Chersonnisos and all the other European youth party resorts according to "experts." Experts being quite well known radio DJs. It's a rather bland song, even for an Ibiza summer hit, but on the basis that I've heard "summer hits" that are a lot worse than this, it gets a six.

Love & Truth- YUI
in the class I'm taking we spent a bit of time analyzing Japanese pop artists and the common characteristics. One was that a lot of them don't really have any talent, so the listener doesn't feel inferior and feels like a "friend" with the artist.
Yui doesn't do that. Her voice is beautiful and without even knowing what she's saying, I can feel the emotion of this song. On top of that, she plays the guitar, which is rare for a lot of j-pop artists.

From their one and only album, "Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By". These songs are incredible, even if every song is overtly sexual and there's obnoxious moaning sounds in half the songs, haha. So this band makes some sort of porn lounge music. Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles are musical gods.

Bizarre Ft. Kuniva, Se7en Tha General, Royce Da 5'9 - Rap's Finest
bizzare is the worst rapper of all time, but the other three come hard, pretty much trying to outrap each other.
Yadadamean, amphetamines and vicodins
I'm nitrogene, seven miles-- fist fightin' em
I'm lighting, bitch up, Bizarre said "get 'em dog"
So I'm gon sic 'em like Vick said finish ya'll
I go off on a brag, the same to the fearfull
Aim at your head put your thoughts on the pave
Wear a clip, air a clip, you can call me Aerosmith
DMC's (deese emcee's) run when I "Walk This Way"
